It seems these days when anyone talks about Arrested Development, the conversation inevitably turns to the still up-in-the-air film sequel -- something that's proven to be more elusive than finding your own Cornballer. Last we heard, the film was actually in development (a term that only loosely means what it's supposed to in Hollywood), but in the meantime, though, there is some good news - IFC has picked up the off-network rights to Arrested Development.
The network will begin airing back-to-back episodes twice a week on Sundays and Tuesdays starting this Sunday night, October 25th, at 10 p.m. ET. Tuesdays, it airs at 9 p.m. ET.
So, what to make of this? Well, it's a better fit than G4, who previously had some off-network rights. But more importantly, it comes at a time when buzz about the movie is big and a dedicated re-airing of all 53 episodes will certainly keep that going. It doesn't hurt either, that IFC is a network with a demographic that's sure to fall in love with the show in a heartbeat (assuming they haven't already seen it a bazillion times).
Though, for those who like the show but aren't familiar with IFC, it might prove difficult finding the network on your cable line-up as it's not a wildly popular channel. Regardless, anything that keeps the AD torch burning can only be interpreted as a positive.

IFC is awesome.. It's what Comedy Central was ten years ago.. I've found some AWESOME shows on that channel that I would have never heard of before.. IT Crowd, Ideal, ZRock, Food Party, Jon Dore Show and The Whitest Kids.. I hope adding AD to their lineup will bring more people and popularity to the channel..
P.S. Ideal is a awesome show comedy lovers really should check out..
