I caught an episode of E!'s new reality show, Leave It To Lamas, the other night. All I could think was, 'Does anyone really care about these people?' Maybe that's the point. We don't care, and thus don't mind watching them all implode.

I'm betting that a lot of people have never even heard of the Lamas family. I remember Lorenzo from Falcon Crest; now he looks like a washed-up porn star. His daughter, Shayne, was recently proposed to by Matt Grant on The Bachelor: London Calling (the engagement is off -- I'm guessing it was all done for publicity for this show).

Lorenzo's son A.J. is an aspiring actor who has a major rift going with his dad. From the promos, that seems to be the major drama of the show so far. I've never heard of Lorenzo's ex, Michele Smith. Apparently, her big thing these days is wandering around the house half-naked. Shayne and A.J.'s half-sister Dakota seems to be the only sane one of the bunch.

Why did I watch? I dunno ... out of curiosity, I guess, and because there's not much on in the middle of the night while I'm working. And I will cop to being mildly hooked on Keeping Up With the Kardashians and Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami, and didn't really know much about them prior to those shows.
