When NBC did its upfront -- it wasn't really like the other networks, because they had leaked so much information -- one of the things the powers that be decided to do was split the season into two sections. Or two official seasons. It all seemed a bit strange, and now that NBC has gotten off to such a dreadful start, things are changing. One change seems to be that Chuck may be back before March.
According to EW.com's Michael Ausiello, Chuck could be on the air by the end of October. Is this a Halloween treat or just another trick by NBC? I'm hoping for the former. Reportedly, the NBC execs have seen four episodes from the new Chuck season and they love it. The Chuck team also have Brandon Routh guesting on the show, and Angie Harmon, too.
If it's true that Chuck is coming back -- maybe as soon as the end of this month -- I have a request of NBC. Please, please, please, do not put Chuck back on Monday. Monday is one of the most competitive nights of TV. Whether 8-9 or 9-10, there's too much good TV for one night. Fox has House and Lie to Me; CBS has the whole sitcom lineup including Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother; ABC has Dancing with the Stars. And that doesn't even take in cable!
What kind of chance will Chuck have if you stack the deck against it? If I were programming for NBC, I'd give Chuck a shot on Friday at 8, with Law and Order following it. (Move Dateline, please!) There's less competition on Friday, and also lower expectations. If Chuck were able to beat Supernanny and Ghost Whisperer, perhaps NBC would give the show a back end order for 13 more episodes.

Ummmm no Friday is where good shows go to die. Look at Firefly, Dollhouse, and now Smallville. Even the fanboys seem to have better things to do on a Friday night. Stop giving advice.

Exactly. Anyone who would suggest a show be moved to friday night - when the most sought-after demographic is out getting drunk and their hard-working Tivo's don't count toward the ratings - is either a moron or secretly wants the show to die a quick death.
Put the show on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Just not on opposite Lost, Mentalist, or American Idol.
Wednesday would be my suggestion.
My offer to fix NBC from my living room by working a few hours a day for free is still open, by the way, if anyone at NBC is reading this. I can get NBC back to at least #2 within one season. It's not that hard with the crap that's on TV. Just give me final, absolute approval on new shows and cancelling shows now on the air.

"Chuck" would gain better ratings against DWTS, American Idol House and Lost combined than without any competition on a Friday, I'm afraid. So I don't care for the day, as long as it is not a Friday :)

I agree about not putting it on a Monday, but Friday is never a good move for a show, ever. Wednesday I would think would be better.

Chuck on a Friday in October? I could handle it. I've missed the reluctant spy and his handlers. Heck, I even miss the Buy Morons. Go Chuck!

Chuck should take over Wednesdays at 8. Mercy isn't doing well and Chuck could do very well against the other shows it would compete against. Let Heroes and either Mercy or Trauma (can't see both surviving) play on Mondays.
Promote the show! Word of mouth is what kept it alive but NBC/WB needs to help the fans help them out. Give the fans something to be excited about! Check out how Virgin1 in England marketed the show-their ads are funny!

That means they're thinking of canceling something, which one will it be?

How about Tuesday nights? Except for the NCIS juggernaut on CBS, there is nothing on TV that is original. I would love for their to be a scripted comedy on to watch instead of reality tv like SYTYCD or DWTS and I bet several million people would agree.

You think Chuck could beat Ghost Whisperer? Ha. That is cutely delusional.

That would be great if Chuck could be back by the end of this month. But I agree with everyone else; Not on Friday. I could see Chuck replacing Mercy or Trauma. It could be a good lead in for SVU. And I definately agree that it shouldn't be on Monday either.

Maybe Chuck will replace Southland on Fridays. I think a better chance would be to put it on Tuesday nights and shorten Biggest Loser to an hour. Or maybe replace Mercy Wednesdays at 8.

I think this means either Mercy or Trauma is screwed. If they move it to Friday I will be pissed.

It's probably heading to Monday maybe 9pm...
Monday 8pm is out of the question since it will get smashed hard. I guess a new game show (the one they have in the pipeline) could slide into the slot while Heroes is sent to die off elsewhere.
'Biggest Loser' is rock-solid on Tuesdays and that won't change. 'Loser' also holds up well against 'Idol'.
'Mercy' has been doing solid business Wednesdays and it's actually better than expected. If anything, it could get a better timeslot coz it has potential to grow.
Thurdays.... mmmhhh....let me not go there..You know it's not that impossible..
Definetely not Friday with 'Law & Order' & 'Dateline' perfoming decently.
Mondays 9pm it is!

I'm hoping for Wednesday at 8 ET, and bump Mercy to Friday. Unfortunately, I'm expecting it to land back on Monday night.
All I know is, Thursday and Friday would be BAD. Thursday is packed full, and Friday is where shows crawl to die a horrible and painful death.

I vote for Tuesday nights. I am so swamped with shows on Monday, plus Monday night football so I have to watch one and TiVo one. Why not spread the shows around a bit.

Friday night? Are you smoking something? As a writer for this website, you should know Friday nights are often kiss of death. I think Tuesday would be a great day.
