(S01E05) "I'm not going to be one of those pathetic girls whose world stops spinning because of some guy." - Elena to Jenna, about Stefan

Ok, well, we'll see about that. Something tells me that by the next episode or two, Elena's world will indeed stop spinning. And then start spinning wildly out of control. She already knows something's up. She already knows in the darkest part of her heart that Stefan is a vampire. She just needs him to confirm it.

And we knew that Damon wouldn't stay locked up in that basement for long. It was just a matter of him putting the call out to Caroline to come get him out of there. Run, Caroline, run! Shoo that crow away! On the other hand, I can see the attraction to that bad-boy vamp. Ooh, he's so bad. And so darn cute.

Is it bad that I don't really care if Damon killed Vicki? She was just bad news for Jeremy, and I was secretly telling him to run, too. Doing drugs in the cemetery. How sad is that? And don't you think Jenna should have been just a little more grown-up-parent-ish about the fact that Jeremy and Vicki were sleeping together in his room?

I loved the part where Stefan was telling Damon what would happen to him; that fact that in the dark ages, wayward vampires were judged, and he would let Damon wither away, at which time "I'll move you to the family crypt and in 50 years, we can re-evaluate."

At this point, I'm only mildly interested in the supernatural shenanigans of Bonnie. I must admit, though, it seemed like some of the other kids at the car wash would have noticed her standing there in a trance right where the fire started. Don't you think? I guess we'll find out.

Awww ... who can resist a vampire cooking up something yummy in the kitchen for his best girl? I thought maybe he might tell Elena about the whole vampire business right then, but he only went into his past with Katherine, and some other stuff about himself. But you could see her knife wound coming a mile away. He's getting more and more vamp-like every time she bleeds, and it will be harder to conceal (but then, she already knows anyway).
