Whoa! I did NOT see that coming. One of the cases on last night's episode of Mercy was a woman suspected of having rabies after feeding a raccoon. So they brought the raccoon in to have it checked out. It was supposed to be dead, thanks to a poison apple and some peanut butter, but when the lid came off the styrofoam cooler, the coon jumped out and started running around the hospital floor. Just the idea of a raccoon with rabies is creepy enough, but add in letting it loose in a hospital and the creep factor goes way up.
Not to mention the fact that Michelle Trachtenberg's Nurse Chloe went ballistic and started smashing it with a crutch. On the other hand, what better place for a rabid raccoon to be? At least they can catch it and get it checked out.
You know, I really wasn't expecting to like Mercy, but after three episodes, I'm sort of into it. I like the characters, and Taylor Schilling and James Tupper have such smokin' hot chemistry, I feel like I should turn the TV off during their scenes. Anyone else watching?

I like Mercy much, much better than the Jada Pinkett self-indulgent smarmfest. And the guy nurse is the same actor who play's Nancy's Mexican thug antogonist on Weeds. He's a great actor.
The ratings are not that good, so I hope it catches fire soon. Networks do not give shows any chance to develop an audience anymore. People may have thought, "Oh, just another hospital show," but this one is (should be) a keeper.

I am really enjoying Mercy. I didn't expect to - I'm not a fan of medical shows - but this had me with the first scene (with nurse Rambo and the car accident).
Funny, good writing, and it's great to see James Tupper again. (I still miss Men in Trees.) I hope NBC gives it a chance.

I'm also enjoying Mercy a lot. All the female leads are appealing, and the focus on the more working-class nurses rather than the the royal doctors is a plus. I like the gritty New Jersey setting - better than yet another show in New York or Los Angeles. I think they need to do more with Veronica's family.
I agree with the people who hope NBC gives it a shot. I'll certainly be watching. It's one of my favorite new shows.
