The Biggest Loser: Week Four

The Biggest Loser: Week Four(S08E04) Last week's episode of The Biggest Loser was about choices. Tracey made the choice to become the most hated woman in the house. This week, the theme was again choices. More specifically, how do you choose what to eat when you have to eat out? To drive home the point, Alison locked up the kitchen and forced the contestants to eat out for every meal this week.

To make matters even worse, Tracey hasn't been able to work out at all, and as the promos showed, her frustrations with her health continued into this week. However, despite restricted exercise, Tracey dropped eleven pounds last week. Could she do it again?

Could they all hang in there to make it another week on the Ranch? See, that was funny because of this week's challenge. Everybody had to hang on an incline above a pool as long as they could. Scary thought for 437-pound Shay. But surprises awaited.

How impressive was it that Shay outlasted almost everyone else there?! Here she is, the heaviest contestant in Biggest Loser history and she hung in there longer than most of the guys out there. It came down to Daniel, last season's heaviest contestant, and firefighter Allen. I continue to be impressed by Daniel's resilience and strength. He beat a firefighter and brought it home for the Orange team.

Good thing, too, because the scale was not friendly to him this week. For the most part, numbers were smaller, though Rudy keeps dropping double-digits week after week. This was week two, two weeks late. But especially for Daniel, who was the first contestant of the season to not lose weight in a given week. Luckily, he didn't gain but thank god for that immunity.

Orange team really needs to step it up if they want to stick around this game. We've had four weigh-ins so far. Orange team had immunity for two of them. Everybody was saved one week, and last week they were in the bottom two. It's been a month now, and they can't keep counting on Daniel to win immunities, or everyone to feel bad for Shay. They need to earn their place on that Ranch and step it up.

In the end, it came down to the Black team (Julio) and the Brown team (Danny and Liz). There was an element of strategy in play, with the chance to eliminate two competitors in one fell swoop, rather than a single individual. Would they do it? Would they...

Hey, Biggest Loser! How about you don't tell us who gets eliminated before we see any of the votes. In the closing moments before the last commercial break, we heard the following: "Coming up. The Biggest Loser transformation moment. See how the eliminated player looks today."

That's right, we have a team of one versus a team of two and you tell us there's an "eliminated player." Great. Way to kill the drama. Julio went home ... what a shocker!

At least now I don't have to feel bad for him being all alone in the challenges anymore. Even better, like Antoine and Sean last week, Julio's done great at home, shedding more than 100 pounds total. Seeing the dramatic weight loss of these early dismissals really makes me excited for the finale. We may see the best combined weight loss yet!
