When Maura Tierney had to leave the production of the new NBC comedy Parenthood for cancer treatments, it was rumored that Helen Hunt would take her place. Now comes word that Hunt is out and another beloved TV star might be slipping into the role.Michael Ausiello is reporting that Gilmore Girls star Lauren Graham has met with Parenthood's producers after negotiations with Hunt broke down.
This wouldn't be the first time that Graham came into Tierney's world. Graham had a stint on NewsRadio as a consultant brought in to straighten things out at the WNYX and was heavily involved with Tierney's character Lisa, trying to become her best friend and confessing to a string of crimes including arson. Now all we need is to have Khandi Alexander join Parenthood (it has been rumored that Alexander left NewsRadio because she thought she was being replaced by Graham).
Production of the show was delayed after Tierney's medical condition came to light and the show will now debut next year.

Not to mention that Tierney beat Graham in the Celebrity Poker Showdown hosted by Newsradio's Dave Foley.

If anyone would be a great replacement for Tierney it would be Graham. Helen Hunt was a boring choice. This actually makes me interested in the series again.
