Kristin Chenoweth gleeful about Glee...and would love to return

kristin_chenowethDid you see Kristin Chenoweth on Glee the other night? Fully recovered from her migraine the night that she won the Emmy for Pushing Daisies, the prolific Kristin Chenoweth talked about the appearance on Glee -- including an interview with Nick the other day -- and she was enthusiastic about it.

She said it was a blast playing a character as wild as April Rhodes. She liked it so much, Kristin would like to make Glee a permanent thing. Or at least be asked back for future guest appearances.

She may get her wish. Kristin told TV Guide, "Ryan Murphy, the creator and genius behind Glee, has indicated that he'd love for April to come back some time. However, they are all working hard to figure out stories all the time. It'd be great for it to make sense for her to come back."

The April character was very complicated; a former classmate of Will's who was in glee club when he was, even inspiring him to join in the first place. However, in the here and now, April is a drunk with lots of problems and baggage. She's really only happy and perky (like Kristin) when she's buzzed.

All that mood swinging was interesting, but for fans of Chenoweth's musical side, the best thing about April was hearing her sing. "...In three very different styles, which is always fun and challenging," said the actress. The real showstopper was her version of the Cabaret song, "Maybe This Time." That brought down the house (although I was curious why they didn't mix her vocal with Rachel's to make it a semi-duet).

Anyway, here's hoping Ryan works it out, Kristin's available to do more, and we can all be gleeful to see her back on Glee.
