I don't care what his reasons are for stopping the show, even if they are petty or vindictive. The show *is* detrimental to those kids. They need to learn how to be kids who don't have cameras in their faces 24-7.

Amazing the way this man can talk out of both sides of his mouth. Filming his kids is fine as long as he's getting paid too, but cut him out of the money and everything has to stop. What exactly does he do to support his family? I don't recall a job the last few years. TLC has paid his family's bills and enabled him to jet set all over the world with his girlfriend. I figure he should be grateful to them. He "detests" his wife, is in love with his twenty something year old girlfriend, and spends his time partying. But now he wants to work on his family and halt the divorce. It's all about the money.Too late to try and convince us you're a good dad now, John. Too little, too late.

I don't care what his motives are. Taking those kids off of TV during the divorce is a GOOD thing. Kids don't belong on reality TV.

BTW, he claims he started the process to end the show weeks ago. Who knows if it is true, but it should be easy to prove.

I think the show will be pretty pointless once all the kids are in school. Just let the show end and maybe check in with them once a year or so for a special.

Maybe once the kids are all in school, Kate can meet another man that she will verbally abuse and have 8 more babies that she can make millions off of. She's no different than the OctoMom.

I was all on board with him last year when he felt the family should stop filming. However, he never called out for a legal cease and desist, even when his marriage crumbled. Yet, once TLC actually dropped him from the roster he cried foul. If he had done this last year (either pulling himself out, the kids, or both) when he still had a moral leg to stand on, I would've been with him. But, now, I do agree with the TLC producers that his actions are slightly immature -

Jon has always been the more patient and easygoing parent. And spouse, for that matter. Mrs. Gosselin doesn't understand this yet, but Jon stayed with her longer than any other man ever would.
She broke up the marriage a year ago by handing Jon a document that stated her terms for separate lives. Jon got depressed, tried to talk her into getting couples therapy, couldn't budge her an inch, and THEN started going on by himself. That is when he started to meet younger people and getting photographed.
And what was Kate doing in the meantime? She was off with her bodyguard on one business trip after another, drumming up deal$ based on her children. She is the parent who exploited them. TLC worked around her schedule so she could get a lot of air time. I guess TLC admires her take-no-prisoners style as wife and mother.
TLC has been dishonest throughout with the viewers. The producers and film crews knew how bad things were, but wanted to keep raking in the money. The winners are TLC and Kate, always in cahoots for the money; the losers are Jon and the children.

Originally, I liked Jon and did feel that Kate was hard on him. Eventually, I realized it was because he is just to imature to step up and be a good dad. Now, he is just proving the point over and over. At this point, I think very little of his actions are motivated by much more than self interest.

As for the comments that the series is bad for the kids, I would have to question that. If you look at what their lives were like at the start of the show and what they are like now you have to wonder. The kids get to spend more time with their parents (who don't have to work as much to pay the bills) and get to do things that they never would have otherwise. Yes, they have to do photo-ops, but they have gotten to do a lot of things that most families could only dream of because of the show.

At this point, I wish Kate and the kids best of luck. I would have to say that Kate really does seem to be trying to do what is the best for the kids. Remember, if she stops the show, writing books, etc, then the kids end up packed into a small house living off welfare because without the publicity, it would be very hard for Kate to make enough money to support them in anything like the way that they live now.

Some of you could not be watching the same show if you think Jon was involved much in this marraige! In a marriage there is always one that leads and keeps things going. Kate is great at that and had to tell Jon what to do alllll the time. She keeps everything under control and that is what makes them such an interesting family. I think the kids are wonderful and are always happy when their mother is keeping them.

The news media always tried to make her look like the bad parent, so the show would be more interesting.

Jon has bought two expensive cars, traveled, a pad in New York, wouldn't a good dad have stayed close by so he would be near the children?

Oh, he loves his children alright, but he loves himself more! If Kate leaves it is for the children, trying to make money for their future, I know she is very afraid and I don't blame her.

If the children turn out ok, it will definetly be because they have had a good mother.
