You've heard it before. The character of Cleveland Brown is the last person in the cast you'd expect to get a spin-off from Family Guy (well, except maybe Herbert, the pedophile down the street). Well, he did in the form of The Cleveland Show. Fox is trying to promote the hell out of this program and as a result, members of the press got a cute press kit to go along with a DVD containing the first three episodes of the show. This particular press kit contained a body brush (for scrubbing those hard to reach places while in the bath or shower) as well as a plastic bag that contained a towel and some bubble bath . The only thing I can conclude from this particular batch of items is that watching The Cleveland Show will somehow make one feel unclean. This is a nice continuation from the same feeling one would get from watching any given episode of Family Guy.
Actually, the kit is a bit contradictory. The bag is obviously to keep a wet towel from dripping on anything, but who brings such a thing to the bath? That sort of item is usually reserved for the beach. I guess they were afraid the towel would get wet in transit or something.
To give the kit some context: the opener of the pilot episode still takes place in Quahog and quickly gives the circumstances regarding why Cleveland has to leave town. The proverbial final straw involves Peter wrecking Cleveland's house while he's sitting in the bathtub.
The brush is a pretty standard brush. It does have the show logo on the back. I usually never scrub my body with a brush (which you can file under "things you didn't need to know"), but this may come in handy some day.For example, if a burglar ever enters my home, this could be a handy weapon. The burglar could say, "Hey, you watch The Cleveland Show?" before I render him unconscious. Or he parries and proceeds to beat the crap out of me. Whichever happens first.
I was warned that this item cannot double as a hairbrush. A pity.
The bubble bath comes in a very small bottle. It reminds me of those bottles you get in the toy or party store you buy for a kid for less than a buck when they want to blow bubbles from a small canister of soapy water. It's obviously a travel size, but who brings along a travel sized bubble bath when they go on vacation? A grooming or shaving kit? Definitely. Shampoo and soap, probably (well, hopefully). Bubble bath? Not so much.
Finally, there is the pièce de résistance:
Words escape me of how awesome this towel is. If there was a Hall of Fame of Awesomeness, this towel would at least be the second runner up. I am bringing this to the beach the next time I go there in order to impress my friends. Or at least have a conversation piece. Or quite possibly embarrass myself silly (although I don't need a towel to do that). As far as press kits go, this one was pretty cool. It definitely had some usable items that ordinarily wouldn't be found in my house (the brush). In fact, the next time I am scrubbing one of those hard-to-reach places while in the bath or shower to get it all nice and clean, I will think of The Cleveland Show.

Brad, in case you weren't aware of it, Peter destroying Cleveland's house while Cleveland is in the tub has been a recurring gag on Family Guy and not just a plot device in the pilot of The Cleveland Show. Cleveland apparently takes his cleanliness rather seriously.
