(Side note: TV Tattle wonders if Conan is having trouble getting guests since this is Ho's third appearance since June. Or maybe Conan just loves doing stunts.)

So roughly once a month, not too bad. I think it's a good bit and not too often to do it.
I have noticed Conan going for more stunts or acts before the first guest, like the knife throwing or the human canonballs. I've kind of taken it as more of mixing up the show to be more entertaining, then lack of ability to get guests.

Please - Conan does not have a shortage of A-List actors wanting to promote their business. Stuntman Steven Ho and Conan are absolutely hilarious and entertaining together. That's why he's a regular.

It is remarkable to me how little the late-night folks are willing to shake the format up.
It's as if the TV viewers will go into epileptic seizures if anyone was to mess up the monologue-skit-guest-singer routine.

Pingles, the reason the formats stick as they do is because they work. Most people start tuning out before the guests come on, and the networks want to keep eyeballs on the screen as long as they can. There are few guests that the overwhelming majority of viewers will be interested in, so if the biggest guest on that night is a B+-level movie star plugging his latest film, they're not gonig to lead with him and lose a quarter or more of the audience.

So I think that Stephen Ho and Conan are funny and it is worth having him on but at the same time I was just thinking the other day when I watched the ep with the crossbow shooters, "has Conan become obsessed with the circus?" He seems to be having a bunch of circus-esq acts on his show. I don't necessarily like it. I think it is a cheap attempt to gain the viewers from Leno's tonight show. They clearly know that Conan's irreverent type of humor does not play well with the older audience and they are trying to straddle a line of cheap entertainment and Conan's humor. I think Conan should not worry about all that and just do his show. I used to think his was the best late night show and I still like it but I have found myself enjoying Fallon's show more. Also has anyone else noticed that Jimmy often has the same people on as Conan only a day off? It seems like that somewhat undermines Conan's show cause no preference is given to him getting A list celebs. Or is it that Fallon is so connected in the industry already that the A listers just want to be on his show. They all come on buddy buddy with him and giving him gifts and whatnot.
No one has been talking about Fallon's show either. I really like his show and think he has done many unique hilarious things. What is everyone else thinking?
