Big Brother 11: The inevitable clips episode

Kevin is in the final three on Big Brother 11
(S11E29) The Big Brother 11 finale will be a two-hour extravaganza on Tuesday evening. It's going to be similar to the Survivor finales with all of the houseguests, a big reunion, and love and joy abounding. Well, Chima should be missing. I'm not so sure on the love and joy either. Perhaps it will be fisticuffs and brouhahas. Hey, if Natalie wins it all, I can see the audience going into uproar mode. It will be live and should be interesting. But we had to get through the latest episode first.

The Sunday episode was touted as "hilarious, unseen before clips." Uh-huh. Most of what hadn't been seen before were the forced intros for the clips. If you noticed, the three finalists were still wearing the same clothes they were wearing on the last live eviction show. Big Brother cut the feeds for a couple of hours that night and obviously coached the hamsters on what to say to segue into the clips they wanted to show.

Most of the clips may have been slightly hilarious when we first saw them. This time around, not so much. Perhaps a chortle, a snicker, but few outright guffaws. We saw Natalie freak out over a dragonfly, Jordan chest-bump Russell, and some of the brouhahas that made the season what it was. For me, the trip down memory lane was only a so-so filler spot while awaiting the finale.

I think the most intriguing bit was the fact they ran a commercial for hamster applicants for Big Brother 12. It got me thinking about what I want to see next year and problems I've had with this season. I don't want anything along the lines of high school cliques, nor anything which would make the cast be within a narrow age range or give a group of hamsters a head start in the game.

Just by using the high school cliques twist this season, they cut the diversity of the cast. By inserting a previous player in the game and handing him HOH on a silver platter, the game didn't start off on any sort of natural selection basis. I don't want that. Of course, I've been irked by most of the seasonal twists over the years.

I prefer a wide range of ages, races, cultures, religions, and more. I don't want to see previous houseguests enter the house as new hamsters. I didn't like Jessie in his season and still don't like him now. But it's not just Jessie -- I don't want to see anyone we've seen before back in the house. No one. I also don't want them to have previous or odd connections to each other. Stop it. Give me a diverse cast of strangers in the house. That's all I ask.

How about you? If you were to come up with a seasonal twist, what would it be? Or, would you prefer strangers?
