I've checked out the first episode of season two of Crash, which airs Sept. 18 at 10 PM ET on Starz. After a major tragedy in his life, Ben Cendars, played awesomely by Dennis Hopper, has taken some time off to get sober. No more drugs. Somehow, I find that a difficult pill to swallow, so to speak, and I really hope he goes south again soon. No one plays the drugged out crazy guy like Dennis Hopper. His wild eyes and erratic behavior are the best parts of the show, especially as he interacts with his driver Anthony, played by Jocko Sims. Those two have one of the weirdest, most dysfunctional bromances in TV history, and I'd hate to see it messed up with Ben's sobriety.
On the plus side, Eric Roberts has joined the cast as a billionaire entrepreneur who plans to bring a pro football team to Los Angeles. My other favorite character is Kenny, played by Ross McCall. He's definitely no angel, but he seems like he wants to make things right in this episode. Let's just say it's a bit of a heartbreaker.
Anyone else a Crash fan?

With so many concurrent storylines, Season 1 of Crash was all over the place. It built so slowly that it was hard to watch at times, usually only one or two of the subplots was interesting at any one point in time.
When it was good though, it was quite excellent. As you said, the scenes with a drug-fueled, mad-eyed Hopper were amazing, and the whole Korean subplot was excellent.
Less good: the illegal immigration subplot was less interesting, which is sad because I think this would make a compelling drama if given more attention and focus (could easily be its own series). Kenny's fall to disgrace was a predictable slow burn and not very interesting, even though they added some richness and depth that those sorts of stories usually gloss over.
I'm going to give Season 2 a chance, but I hope it packs a bit more punch into the episodes than the first season, and tightens up some of the weaker subplots.

I am actually totally dissapointed with the new season. They replaced the interesting story lines (like cesar's story) with nonsense crap. I agree with Ryan, that if they wouldve given more attention to the immigrant story it could be its own show. Soo much that stills needs to shown on that issue. I hate the fact that the writers JUST want us to forget that the other characters existed.
I really never liked Dennis Hopper's character, and I like him even less now. With so many other good shows to watch I dont think I will stay tuned for the new season of crash....unless they bring back the characters of season one later on season 2.
