I'm not a fan of Tila Tequila (actual name: Tila Nguyen) or her MTV programs A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila or its sequel, but that doesn't mean I want her to get hurt. Sadly, it looks like she was allegedly restrained and choked by Shawne Merriman, a linebacker with the San Diego Chargers. Charges have already been pressed.Since she did call and press charges, I'm going to assume this isn't one of those cases of erotic asphyxiation gone wrong and assume Mr. Merriman was (allegedly) trying to prove his manhood somehow. In which case he's a cad and a beast and there are more promising men out there. In fact, since Ms. Nguyen is allegedly bisexual (she claimed to be on her show, but I've always had my doubts about that) she has an even bigger batch of better options to choose from.
Is this going to be another case of Rihanna and Chris Brown? I certainly hope not.

San Diego news sources make it sound Merriman was just trying to keep her from driving home drunk until alternate transportation showed up. Whether he got inappropriate in doing so has yet to be learned.

This guy was just trying to prevent her from driving drunk. I'll conceed that maybe he didn't know his own strength, but intentional? No way.
This greedy bitch thinks she has found a sure fire way to stick Merriman for his paper...and this is not going to end well for HER.

Nguyen was featured on the cover of the April 2006 issue of Stuff magazine; in the interview, she claimed that her nickname "Tila Tequila" came about when she experimented with alcohol at the age of thirteen.

Wikepedia is not a reliable source. Whoever wrote that--anyone can--did not follow through the whole Stuff Magazine article. Yes, she experimented with Tequila at 13 but she got extremely sick, a result of an allergy to alcohol. Her friends ribbed her and gave her the nickname. She explained this on the Tyra Banks Show about a year ago.
She also twitted of this after the incident with Merriman, explaining that it has been known in her circles for years. Apparently Merriman doesn't know her well enough to come up with that excuse.

The owner of the club said she has so many mixed drinks, five beers, half a dozen shots. Uhh??? Oh, by the way....police came out and said she had no signs of physical abuse. She's a dumb ass trying to blame someone else for her faults. She is a total waste of space. I cannot believe someone called Tila Tequila anyway. This just proves my point.
