Oh, if you're wondering why Fallon is taking off surgical gloves at the start of the tip, he had just given Oz a rectal exam.

How much do the Fallon people pay for such favorable coverage? Seems like there's a post on just how awesome Jimmy Fallon is every single day...

I don't understand why everyone is so hostile to Jimmy Fallon, I like his show far better than the other late night shows out there.
Though it is a good point that this particular post would make me tend to think that the Fallon folks, or at least NBC, is paying for this coverage. This is a commercial. I know all talk shows are is big commercials, but this is particularly blatant and not entertaining. I don't see why it warrants a blog post. Unless you're a really big Dr. Oz fan or are demonstrating Oprah's influence in television, in which case you might have said something along those lines.

The reason this warrants a blog post is because TV Squad's writers are lazy, so they find random, irrelevant clips to throw up as "short posts," as they so cleverly call them. Hey, here's a clip from this week's "Mad Men"! And here's something wacky that Fallon did last night! If any of us really wanted to see these clips, I'm pretty confident we could find them ourselves. It leaves many of us asking the same question - Who F-ing cares?
And as you point out, they don't even bother addressing interesting stories behind these clips; as you mentioned, it's another example of Oprah's influence. But the story that really should have been mentioned is that Dr. Oz took over Letterman and Conan's old studio, completely bastardizing its 27-year-old history in late night. Bottom line: this site used to be must-view for its TV news, commentary and show reviews. These days, it's cluttered with useless clips, hack writing, and a lack of any real substance.

Once Letterman and Conan left, the studio became just a big room. Were they supposed to keep it empty? Studios get reused all the time. Fallon is where the local news shot for years. The local news is probably where some other historic show was shot. It's TV; turnover is inevitable. Put up a plaque and move on.
MJL, have you actually been *reading* the site lately? Bob does maybe 4 or 5 of these per day; the other 15-20 posts are longer and have more analysis. There's room for both. And, yes, Fallon's been doing some interesting stuff lately. So have Conan, Dave, Craig, Jon, Stephen, and Jimmy. We put up clips of all of 'em.

Uh, I don't know, maybe put Fallon there? Keep some sort of tradition alive at NBC? Regardless, you missed my point - all I said was that it was worth mentioning in conjunction with this post.
And yes Joel, unfortunately I have been *reading* the site lately. You might want to check your math - I counted eight of these posts yesterday alone. Luckily I've found other TV blogs since you started these, like THR's The Live Feed.
Oh and the short post that just went up about "At the Movies"? That clip was on Defamer two days ago.

MJL: I did not do 8 short posts yesterday.
As for the rest of your complaint, the web is a big, wonderful place. There might be other blogs that do different things. That's fine. There's room for everyone. I think there's a misconception that we have replaced longer posts with short posts. I have to say for the 40th time: this is not happening. We still have the same number of reviews/news/opinion posts, it's just that we've added short posts too. In other words, we have MORE posts, not less.
But that's the great thing about a blog, if you don't like something, scroll down a bit and read what interests you.
As for some other site having something a couple of days ago...so what? Are we supposed to not post things because maybe possibly perhaps someone saw it on a different blog?
As for everything else, what Joel said.
