Back in February, Patton Oswalt headed to DC to record his new comedy special, My Weakness Is Strong. It's set to air on Comedy Central on Sunday night (that's the 23rd, you lazy bum), with the CD/DVD coming out two days later. If you can't hang on that long, just hop on iTunes, where his album is already rapidly climbing up the charts, currently sitting at #3 and making the likes of Reba McEntire weep Internet-tears.I was lucky enough to be in attendance when Oswalt taped his special, and I was not disappointed. Since I returned home that evening so many months ago, I have been thinking about the DVD, quietly praying and hoping that the cameras did not catch me wiping tears from my eyes or awkwardly leaning too close to the person sitting next to me as I laughed. Excuse me, I have a surly image to maintain.
Oswalt is one of my favorite comedians, and his special brand of borderline TMI specificity is so finely tuned in this set, it's a must for any stand-up fan. There were many memorable moments -- several of which will not be in the Comedy Central edit, I'm betting, especially since the embedded promo seems to have such randomly selected bits from the evening -- but I'll try not to spoil you.
... Okay, I have to spoil you a little bit. "Ginseng Hitler Bee Pollen." Alright, that's all I'm going to say.

Ooh, I'm jealous. I never seem to manage to catch Patton when he's in town.
Needless to say, I set up the DVR for this as soon as it was scheduleable, and will most likely be buying the DVD soon as well.

This is laughable. Reba McEntire's new album KEEP ON LOVING YOU is expected to debut at the top of the Billboard 200 all-genre albums chart and atop the Billboard Country albums chart. She'll have the top-selling album in the land, and you're selling it as though she's left in the dust behind a comedy album. That's cute. Uninformed reporting is cute...

It was a joke. On a post about a comedian. Releasing a comedy album.

Not to mention the fact that Reba McEntire sucks.
