Last night, everybody's favorite obsessive compulsive decorator and house flipper, Jeff Lewis, was back on Bravo, and the ratings for Flipping Out were through the roof. The Season Three premiere was the highest ever for the reality show, up 53 percent from last season's opener.More important than the numbers, though, was the show itself. If you want to see how the recession has hit the real estate business, check out this show. Instead of flipping million dollar homes in Southern California, Jeff is now reduced to taking renovation jobs and working for other people. He's not used to having to work for others, but it's great to see it happen.
Jeff is not an easy-going guy. He's anal retentive and demanding, and when you see him having to take orders instead of giving them, it's refreshing and interesting. Basically, Jeff Lewis is a character in his own drama, and that's entertainment.
Like any good drama, Flipping Out has excellent supporting players, and Zoila -- Jeff's maid -- and Jennie -- his number one assistant -- were back, as was Jeff's business partner, Ryan. Previews of the weeks ahead were tantalizing. It looks like there'll be some tough financial times, angry fights, and plenty more opportunities for Jeff to flip out.
Next week, for instance, tensions are high as Jeff's newest assistant Rachel -- a former friend he hired because she needed a job -- struggles to keep up with his demands.

What an interesting match that would be, who would be the first to belittle and berate the other? which one would crumble into a little ball of quivering uncertainty first?...now THAT I might watch.. if only for 20 minutes (can't handle more than that of either of them.)

I am a big fan of HGTV and love home renovation programming. I happened upon FLIPPING OUT one day and have been a fan ever since. I love Jeff and cannot believe that I actually watch the show to see what he is going to do next. (I know it was poor parenting, but the Chardonnay and Hooters thing with Chloe was hilarious). I think Jeff is very talented in his profession, and I still find myself watching even though the payoff takes longer to see a finished project. Sometimes I cannot believe the things he says to Jenni which she seems very adept at handling. I hope she doesn't stress out at night and secretly want to quit. She is delightful and deserves someone very special. I also love Zoila and think she is Jeff's "even change". She secretly loves him like a son and wants him to behave. Ryan on the other hand is a SKUNK. I know Jeff likes him, but I cannot believe that Ryan is living in such denial regarding their business relationship. He was clearly disloyal and Jeff is better off without someone he cannot trust. Ryan you cannot "eat your cake and have it too". You were wrong. Jeff should just chalk it up and let Ryan go as a business partner and so-called friend. He is not your friend Jeff and is only out for himself. It will all pan out in the wash one day when someone stabs Ryan in the back. Figure out a way to still see Chloe and be in her life, without a close relationship with the SKUNK.

Jeff, I think you are 100% correct. If Ryan really wanted to have things right between you and he does not see where he did anything wrong.. he would do everything he can to show you what all took place from his perspective and why what he did wasn't wrong! Jeff, I hope that with time you will be able to get past Ryan and move on with your life and have a truly meaningful relationship with your current partner.
I love the show, I love the bantering that goes on between you and all your co-workers/employees - Jenny, Zoila - it is hilarious, you all tell your true feelings, but do it in a fun way so no one gets really bad hurt feelings, hope you can all continue your working relationships and have wonderful lives! Don't let Ryan bring you down, he is not worth it! You are better off without someone you can't trust. You are the better person!!
