Richard Hatch, the winner of the very first Survivor, was sent to jail in 2006 for not paying taxes on his winning from the show (and a radio talk show gig) and also got time for perjury. But he says that's not the real reason he was sent to jail.Hatch said in an interview today on Today that the court system in the United States is set up to be against gays, and he believes that if he was heterosexual he wouldn't have gone to jail. Hatch is currently out of prison and confined to his home. He's getting out on October 7 but wants to be released now.
Officials involved with the case, including the U.S. Attorney who tried the case, say that Hatch is "delusional." He wasn't sent to prison because he's gay. He was sent to prison because he walked around naked on the show and lied to his fellow contestants. Here's the interview.

Captain Apollo from the original Battlestar Galactica series sure has changed over the years, and in more ways than one.

Really?
He admits to financial irregularities and being a huge jerk, but thinks his conviction is 100% due to anti-gay bias?
A home in Newport, RI is "financially devastated"?
He's so full of it.
