In the Twitter era, where else would we get the news that Comedy Central has canceled the long-running Reno 911 after six seasons. Lt. Jim Dangle (Thomas Lennon) tweeted that "Reno 911 was canceled at 1:30 pm today," and even more tragically that he "won't be wearing the shorts again." Never say never, Lennon, there's always conventions.
That means, though, that the July 8th episode was the series finale. By any standards, 88 episodes is a good run for a series, but it's always a little disappointing when a long-running show like Reno 911 gets canceled between seasons. It means that the creators will never get a chance to write an "ending" for their series.
While Reno 911 was fresh and exciting when it first started, I kind of got bored with what it was doing after awhile. I'm not saying it was a bad show, because it was groundbreaking in so many ways with the mockumentary presentation and extensive ad-libbing by the brilliantly talented cast.
What will you miss most in a world without the Reno Sheriff's Department to protect and serve?

That SUCKS! However, this last season wasn't nearly as good as the previous 5 were. Maybe it was the 2 new officers (and getting rid of a few of the old ones). Replacements always suck. But most of the plot lines, if you can call them that, were pretty weak this season. Dangle's murder mystery dinner... kinda lame.
But I'll miss the show, and they should have given it one more season to end it all.

What would I miss? The image selected to go with this posting says it, the original cast. Just didn't seem right this past season and honestly past the first or second season it just kinda dropped off.

This was one of those shows that I thoroughly enjoyed yet regularly forgot to watch. I just don't usually scan Comedy Central for my weekly DVR selections.
Sorry to see it go.

This is really depressing.
What kind of budget could Reno 911 have had? It must have been pretty small.
I kinda wish it had been canceled last year while the original cast was still together.
Here's hoping for a reunion movie.

To bad my husband and I love this show, it will be missed! I would like to see some questions answered, maybe a webisode to wrap things up maybe bring back some of the original cast one last time.

What a SHAME!!!
I was sad to see Clemmy, Garcia, and Kimble go at the end of season 5...But Ian Roberts is AMAZING and fit right into the cast.
I thoroughly enjoyed season 6 and will miss my favorite show of all time.

I rarely watched the show and thought it was silly most of the time, but Kathy Kinney just cracked me up! With her "thicket" line, I about died! Also got a kick out of what's his names hot pants. I know my boyfriend will be upset!

This sucks royally. Reno was the ONE show that I made sure I watched every week. I have all of the dvd's. The unexplained losses of the two original deputies and the one that came later going into season 6 was dissappointing, but the show still beats anything else that's on.
Don't even bother talking about garbage like "Michael and Michael" that I have zero interest in watching.
Before RENO even made its debut I knew it was going to be great because the possibilities were endless.
It's one thing if two many regulars were going to depart, but to cancel it? Please.
At least I have my dvds. It doesn't matter how many times I view them I still laugh. There's been very few other shows that I could say the same (Strangers with Candy comes to mind).
Bad decision comedy central. Next you'll take away my South Park no doubt.

Finally, this was the most rediculous show I think I have ever encountered. The sooner it's gone the better.
Maybe weith any luck SouthPark will be next.

this is not funny.
Reno 911! was such a great show and I was sad to see Clemmy Garcia and Kimble leave once season 6 started.
Trudy was and always will be my favorite. The horrible part is that there was no "real" ending to the series and Reno 911! deserves it seeing as how there is such a great fan base.
For now I guess Ill just wait for Thomas Lennon to pitch another tv show because his work is truly hilarious.

Sorry but this was one of the more stupid shows I would "accidentally" watch (like when awaking from dozing in front of the TV) - I won't miss it.

NOOOOO!!!! What are you MFR'S @ Comedy Central thinking!!! It is one of your funniest shows!!! I haven't been this upset with you since you took Strangers with Candy off the air!!! GO ahead and cancel South Park now and there will be no need for you to have a network anymore!!!!!

This makes me so sad! Reno was HILARIOUS! They definitely should make a final movie, since they aren't doing a final season! I loved Reno 911: Miami!!!!!
