Office star Jenna Fischer is producing TV shows now, and the first one sounds pretty good. She's putting together a show based on the exploits of real-life private eye Charlie Parker. It would be set in San Antonio and Fischer is developing the show for her network, NBC. She describes it as an hour long comedic drama (thankfully she didn't use the term "dramedy"), a lot like Magnum, P.I. or Columbo.
Not sure what she means that it's going to be like Magnum, P.I. and Columbo in tone. I never thought of those two shows having a similar tone, but I think I know what she means. And I'm all for new private eye shows on television. Just don't make it too QUIRKY, alright Jenna?

I guess someone realizes that one day The Office will be over. Will Jenna Fischer be typecast as Pam once the show is done?

I honestly don't see Jenna Fischer doing a lot of other roles. I saw her on a few late night shows and... I dunno. Just my impression.
But I'm glad to see her directing, though.
