America's Got Talent: Performance show two

America's Got Talent(S04E15) Before I comment on this week's performances, in case you missed it, I posted the list of the eight wild cards that they judges picked. I feel robbed of talent that should have been given the chance to be part of the now Top 48. I promise you, however, that it's the last time this season you'll have me say that the America's Got Talent judges made oh so wrong decisions, which, based on some of your comments, actually had people stop watching. Now that I know who is part of the Top 48, I've decided to embrace these acts and stop complaining. Otherwise, I'll end up not enjoying the season.

Last week, Arcadian Broad (judges' pick), Acrodunk, Drew Thomas Magic, Kevin Skinner, and Grandma Lee made it to the Top 20 -- I got four out of five right. You? Who will join them this week? My comments, Piers' Xs and predictions coming up!

Fab 5, Power Tap Dancers (Audition show 3) - Even if they had cyber rehearsals because they live in three different states, they still gave an energetic and in-sync performance. Sadly, the soundtrack wasn't hip and fast enough to get me too really sucked in. Nonetheless, it was an original and well-done routine.

Charles DeWayne, Singer/Musician (Audition show 9 and his YouTube channel) - The setting was perfect for this fantastic and smooth rendition of "Just the Two of Us." The lighting and the effects were cool and fun, he had a real grand piano to accompany himself, even his clothes were perfectly picked. His voice was perfect throughout the song and his piano playing was just amazing. I agree with Sharon that he must pick a more challenging song next time but he chose the perfect song to get voted through the next round. He'll definitely go through.

Carol Loo, Dancer (Audition show 3 and her MySpace page) - Giving her backup dancers, adding lighting and video effects on the screens will not make this a good act. I can't believe that The Hoff said he loved the presentation and that it was a great job! WTF?!? Carol had no routine, her moves were not fitting what the back up dancers were doing nor were they working with the song. Piers said it best: Carol is fun and it's great she can do that at her age, but her act is far from being worth a million. That's why he Xed her. America please do not vote her through. Actually, don't even give her one of your votes out of sympathy because she may end up in sixth or fifth place and may end up being the judge's pick! Send her packing!

Tony Hoard and Rory, Canine Flying Disc Team (Audition show 1 and their official website) - Once again Rory rocked the house, even if Piers Xed him. However, even if Tony changed the setting of the act -- Baywatch theme -- and added a few people to help in some of the tricks, he and Rory didn't step up their game from their audition. I think their audition performance was even better than this. Maybe Sharon is right and Rory and Tony don't need the music and the theme. I hope they get another chance because they are unique but they wouldn't be my top pick. In case you missed it, they were Xed by Piers.

Eleisha Miller, Singer/Pianist (Audition show 6 and her official website) - Even if the soundtrack was too loud, we could still hear that her voice was off most of the song. She is not ready to be a singer. However, she showed once again that she has style, energy and spirit, which will come in handy when she gets her singing in order with a good vocal teacher as Piers suggested. She shouldn't move on. She was Xed by Piers.

Paradizo Dance, Acrobatic Dance Group (Audition show 1 and their official website) - Sadly for them, there was too much smoke to fully see the moves they performed on the floor. Nonetheless, they performed a smooth routine that had some daring moves. As Piers said, the difference in weight between both of them makes this act even more amazing. I hope they move on to the next round but I'm doubtful they'll go to the Top 10 since there are many dancing acts this year.

The Texas Tenors, Singing Group (Audition show 6 and their MySpace page) - They showed that acts don't need all the glam and background extras to give a great performance. I agree with Piers that it was a bit cheesy but thanks to their fantastic vocals, the Texas Tenors deserve a Top 20 shot.

SQ Entertainment, Urban Dance Crew (I missed what audition show they were in, if you remember, please comment) *Wild card - Did you know they auditioned last year as well? Check out their 2008 audition video on YouTube. As I watched them, I got the feeling that they weren't 100% sure of themselves during the act. I agree with The Hoff that they need to have a more defined storyline to their act. They have the moves, they have the energy, and they have the synergy, so they don't need a lot of improving to really wow us.

Pete Peterkin, Impersonator (Audition show 1 and his official website) - The Rock & Roll president tried to impersonate Jamie Foxx doing his Ray Charles impersonation. A bit confusing as Piers said, but it allowed Pete to show that he can sing, play piano, and impersonate more than just Obama. Pete's jokes were also rather basic. His act didn't entertain me at all. Personally, I think he should stick with doing Obama if he his voted through as Obama is the flavor of the month and may get him further in the competition than mixing things up. However, if he only does Obama, he'll need to come up with better jokes.

Alizma
, Singers/Musicians (Audition show 2, their official website and their MySpace page) - Didn't they learn from the comments given to them by Piers after their audition? He warned them that their voices were not that great. The triplets didn't listen and performed a bad singing act tonight. No wonder they were Xed by all judges. Sharon is right that the stripper-like moves were too much as well. If the triplets had performed a violin act, I'm sure the comments would have been totally difference and would probably move on to the next round. Sadly for them, they'll more than likely go back home because their act was almost as bad as Carol Loo's act! They went from one of my favorite acts in their audition show to one of the worst act tonight.

Beale Street Flippers, Flippers (Audition show 10 and various YouTube clips) *Wild card - Their flipping is pretty amazing and they tried to offer us a few more daring moves by flipping over one another. Removing their shirts and the rose will surely get them a few extra votes. Piers Xed them because the act got boring. He also told them that the routine wasn't properly choreographed. Sharon added that it wasn't diversified enough. I must agree with both of them as I got tired pretty quickly and would definitely not pay to see them for an hour-long show on the Vegas Strip.

The Voices of Glory, Singers (Audition show 1 and their MySpace page) - Even if this year the show didn't always keep the act they wanted us to root for as the last act of the night, somehow, I knew Voices of Glory would get to close tonight's performance show. I would have liked to see them perform a different song style than what they did in their audition. They went the safe route, which will definitely get them voted through since the song allowed them to show they have great voices, even if a tad shaky at times, and can sing very well as a trio. I agree with Piers that Nadia shined and has a fantastic and powerful voice.

My Top 5 picks: Charles DeWayne and the Voices of Glory will definitely get voted through. I had a hard time picking up the other three acts that I think should get to the Top 20 because they didn't as clearly wowed me as Charles and Voices of Glory did. In any case, here are my other picks: Paradizo Dance, The Texas Tenors, Fab 5. I don't forsee me getting more than three out of five right.

Do you think Piers was too harsh tonight by Xing most of the acts or do you think he was right on with his comments? Which acts do you want to see go through to the Top 20? Share your picks as well as two cents about Piers in comments below.
