Finally! Proof that The Cleveland Show actually exists
We've been hearing about it for an eternity, the premiere was delayed until this past spring until fall, and for the longest time, the only thing we knew about FOX's upcoming Family Guy spin-off, The Cleveland Show, was this here picture. Heck, it's been over a year since that pseudo-promo for the show started floating around, but at least we were told how and when Cleveland actually left Quahog via this Family Guy clip.
However, now we have real proof that the new cartoon, which premieres on FOX on Sunday, September 27th, is actually real. Check out the new clip from the premiere episode below and tell us what you think. Personally, and I've said this before, but American Dad killed my faith in Seth MacFarlane's ability to make another animated hit. That being said, I'm willing to give anything a shot that has a bear who sounds like the voice you hear over the loudspeaker in an Ikea. Oh, and if you're wondering who the voice behind Mrs. Bear is, it's Arianna Huffington.

I actually think American Dad has more true humor than Family Guy does. I do enjoy a laugh or two at Family Guy but American Dad's humor is actually within the story and the characters and not in cut sequences that are thrown in to get a joke out.
I enjoy both and i'm willing to give The Cleveland Show a shot but for those who just pass by American Dad they should think twice.

The pilot episode of The Cleveland Show has actually been available on torrent sites since the end of June.
And if anyone cares it's shit. Those that like Family Guy and American Dad will enjoy it 'cos it's just more of the same. Those that like good shows won't enjoy it.
I did a real quick review of it if anyone cares, but it's basically just me saying how terrible it is:

uh, exactly. some of us watched the actual premiere a month ago at least. pretty amazing that TV Squad didn't "have proof" it existed.

We had it, I just wouldn't let Jonathan watch it ;P. We don't always play nice here at the TV Squad Clubhouse!
But I did cover it in our FOX Previews post, where I wasn't much nicer: http://www.tvsquad.com/2009/07/07/tv-squad-previews-foxs-new-shows/

I too saw this back about a month ago on the torrent sites watched it. I'm a big fan of mcfarlens work on family guy and American dad but the Cleveland show was horrible i didnt laugh once and it was horribly predictable i was greatly disappointed.

American Dad had a slow start, but has been much stronger than Family Guy since the second season. It's also helped that FG has sucked the last couple seasons.

American Dad was funnier than Family Guy last season. They solidified it when they brought Reginald the talking koala. I don't know why but when he appeared out of no where I couldn't stop laughing. The best episode of the series so far is "Tear Jerker".

When did they change the look of Cleveland's kid? The, "Look at me, I'm Tiger Woods" kid? When did they make him fat?

They took him off his Adderall?

I wish I had proof that it didn't exist. It's about as funny as The Simpsons spin-off.
(yes, I know there never was one, that's how deep my sarcasm goes)

I'm a big Family Guy fan, but as soon as I heard Cleveland was getting a spin-off I saw this turning out badly. Honestly, I think the writers of FG just saw money signs when someone proposed this idea. FG fans will tune in and agree it's a mistake, because all the FG writers have done is removed quite a good character who they got quite a lot of good jokes out of in FG and dedicated an entire show to him - minus every other FG character. I really don't think Cleveland's a solid enough character to carry off a show purely about him. There's now going to be a missing piece in the PeterJoeQuagmire gang and as a result, some missing humour - so what exactly is Cleveland going to do with his new cast? All I can hear is a lot of "That's naasty"s and a lot of laugh-free silences.
