More from Fox execs: Futurama, Glee, Dollhouse... but no more King of the Hill - TCA Report

Believe it or not, FOX execs Kevin Reilly and Peter Rice did field questions that didn't have the words "Idol" our "Paula" in them. But there weren't many. Here are the highlights:
- When Reilly was asked about the "Save Dollhouse" campaigns out there, he joked, "you mean the campaign that started before we starting making episodes?" He cited the solid cumulative numbers the show put up (which included DVR numbers) as to why it was brought back, and the fact that "the fans were there every week. We were there with Joss, and he delivered." While Whedon "wasn't having a lot of fun" in the first half of the season because of the struggles he and the network had to focus on what the vision of the show would be, in the "second half of year he found his voice on the show and had a lot of fun," according to Reilly.
- On Futurama and the option the show has to do a first run on the network level: The show will "do its run on Comedy Central first and we'll see what happens. If we see a renaissance of that show, sure. It's not out of the question." But right now, there are no talks to air it on Fox.
- The last six episodes of King of the Hill are unlikely to see the light of day, according to Reilly.
- The execs were happy with Glee's spring tryout; 13 episodes have already been shot, and they're liking what they're seeing. "It's got music but it's not a musical. It's comedic but not a comedy. We wanted people to talk about it and people to get their hands around it."
- On Leno's move to 10, Reilly said you have to look at the move and how it'll do from a "holistic" standpoint. He wasn't shy about pointing out his former network's shortcomings. "The (Tonight) show has always tapered off in second half; does that tapering occur (at 10)? (NBC) will strugle at 8, and we no powerhouses at 9. So yoy have to look at whole picture."
- When asked where he was when Ben Silverman, the man who replaced him at NBC, announced his resignation, Reilly shot back, "When, the official announcement or the six month pre-announcement?"

yeah that info about the last six episodes of king of the hill has to be wrong
I am sure that they will put in on mid season when most of there stuff is in reruns

That makes no sense not to air the last 6 King of the Hills. They could have played it right now during the summer. I am sure all the KotH fans would have been tuning in to watch the last episodes.
I am really tired of FOX shenanigans.

Chill everyone re: Fox and KoTH. They'll change their minds (such as they have) and air the final 6 eps after The Cleveland Show or any of their other "gems" tanks midseason. It was a great show that ran 14 years, a pox on Fox for doing their usual and ****canning it, like they've done to so many other shows.

I can't believe this imbecile had the gall to blame Joss for the early episodes of Dollhouse when it was interference by Fox that made them so awkward. He didn't "find" his voice halfway through. The execs just finally realized he knew what he was doing better than they did and started leaving him alone.

I'm no fan of Leno, but doesn't the 'Tonight' show taper off in the second half because it's on after midnight in some time zones? If people actually like Leno, that won't be a problem at 10. Given that Fox still won't even try to program the 10-11 hour, it's a bit rich for them to take potshots at networks that do, even when the programming seems as ill-conceived as devoting 5 hours of prime time to Leno. And according to NMM, it's not ill-conceived.

Fox has a long history of abandoning shows people love and supporting utter crap for no reason (a THIRD season of Til Death?). American Idol has allowed Fox to get away with this for the most part.
Fox killed off Futurama, Firefly and Family Guy (maybe Rupert doesn't like the letter "F") and all made a comeback in spite of it...even though it took years.
Newscorp is in bad shape and now will charge for online content which is doomed to fail. Maybe Rupert would fair better by giving a little respect to someone other than the birthers.
