I am glad Janette got really positive comments from Mia and Nigel (as well as a hug from Murphy) before she left because I think she was remarkable in that she was outrageously good in all styles, but sizzling in ballroom. She was my favorite as well I think except for her solos are not remarkable (unlike Jeanine whose solo times two weeks have been bold, strong, sexy without being overwhelming).
They should really have opted for more favorite dances instead of K. Holmes and other fillers.
BTW: did Travis choreo the big dance # (not Mia?)

I am shocked that Janette went home. What a shame, she really has done well all season. Quite frankly I was hoping Melissa would go. I liked Tyce's piece but that doesn't make up for other weak pieces the past several weeks. And yeah, Evan must have a great big fan base. I like him, but was shocked to see Brandon in the bottom 2 instead. Though I was also hoping Ade would go -- something about him I just don't like as much as the other guys.

Oh my goodness --- why in the world did Joshua and Katee not get to perform on the 100th show. They were what made last season, did they ever go wrong. I realize they did Emmy dances but come on they needed be up on that stage.


You know what I've been craving for - I thought it would of been great at the top 10 or 8 to have this seasons dancers perform some of the most memorable dances of the past seasons. Thought it would be quite interesting to see how different dancers perform works that we know. But alas that won't happen but in my mind it was a great idea.

My thoughts:
- Ms. Holmes was a real letdown. Good legs but let us see her using them.
- For all its cheesiness (which I kind of like), 'One' from A Chorus Line needs an honest to god bring down the house kick line. Without it, I felt cheated and the camerawork killed whatever else it might have had in charm.
- The big dances are never the same in reprise. Unfortunately, you can never see something again for the first time. Having said that I loved seeing them all again and especially seeing Wade dance in Rama Lama.
- I knew Melissa would be held over and with the moving performance she gave, I don't begrudge it…I love Janette, though, and so was hoping for Kayla to go buh-bye. She's a good dancer and no doubt lovely…just empty to me, no spark…she's gone next week.
- I am so torn on the guys. I am one of those weird Evan fans. It is just that he is different, a throwback to the old musicals and we see so many contemporary dancers that in the end they all start to run together for me. With Evan, I feel like I'm voting for Donald O'Conner or Gene Kelly. I was worried about Brandon though as he's my number one contempo guy.

I am glad I took your advice and watched the last two dances from the night before. Ade and Melissa's dance moved me to tears like it did the panel. I also loved the quirkiness of the zombie dance.

The "Much Ado About Nothing" award goes to: Katie Holmes. I love my DVR and that fast forward button. I would have much rather seen Benji doing some California swing or more favorite old dances than that.

I would like to have seen some "where are they now" segments on Danny, Benji, Lacey, etc like they did last year.

Sad to see Janette go. I thought she was going to go all the way and take the title this year. Remember though, the Best Dancer doesn't always win - the Most Popular one does.

I disliked the Katie Holmes number! I did see Mark from last season as one of her back-up dancers!
My fav's are Kayla and Janette. Melissa is on borrowed time. Evan dances like a young boy up there.
Disappointed not to see Joshua and Katie, too.

Let's faces it Katie Holems was their as a joke. The fact that she can't sing or dances on a show that is about danceing must be a joke--- a check would have been better and less embarrassing

I'm really sad that Kayla didn't go home. She bores the crap out of me. Considering that Janette has the least training of the four remaining girls, she did an exemplary job. I think the judges give Kayla undeserved praise. She's a great technical dancer with no personality. The other three girls have personality by the boatload, but somehow Kayla can't get eliminated.

I'm glad Jason's gone. He was far too stiff, and I agree with what Mia said about his shoulder posture Wednesday night. He shouldn't have that issue this far through the competition.

Out of all of the guys, I think Ade has the best chance of winning, but Evan does have a great personality and a big following. I don't think a lot of people thought Benjy Schwimmer would've won Season 2, but he beat out Travis, who is amazing. Evan is different sorta like how Benjy was different (even though he doesn't appear to be as good an all around dancer), and there's ALWAYS a chance he could be the last male standing.

I love Kayla and think she is the best dancer of the bunch by far. I don't see this lack of personality at all. I think she has plenty. I hope Melissa and Ade go next. I was willing to give them a reprive after the Tyce routine, but next week its time to go.

I wasn't impressed with the "One" number, it was just.. ok. Katie Holmes, I wasn't excited about and therefore, not disappointed. Very bland.

The "Rama Lama" number is the single number that I always think of when I think of this show. It's the first number where I wanted to know WHO choreographed this, and the choreographer was like a rock star for me. I love the Wade Robson routines! Although I agree w/ what Lisa said, there is something special about seeing these numbers the FIRST time we see them, that you lose, after..

I am horrified that Janette is gone. I found her to be the most accomplished, exciting, versatile of any of the dancers I've seen this year, and I honestly expected she'd win it. In her absence, I like Kayla.. For the guys, I'm going to root for Brandon now, although I really thought Jason was better than he got credit for. I found his solos to be amazing. I don't get the appeal of Ade, I'm just not seeing it myself.

I don't get the Evan fans...he is by far the worst male dancer and brings down every one of his partners. I can't believe more people voted for him than Brandon.

Janette is the best female dance and definitely capable of winning the show. America really blew it this week.

Denise - we must share the same brain...I agree with every word of your post.

I can't get over that four of the BEST dancers were at the BOTTOM last night. Janette should've won this thing. IMO - that cancer dance saved Ade and Melissa....otherwise they'd have been the ones to go, rightly so. I was also surprised by the lackluster reaction of both Cat and Nigel. I know they were running out of time, but they just seemed to act like, "oh bummer, well see you next week!" I was surprised Cat didn't talk to the rest of the judges. I would've liked to have heard/seen Mia's reaction.

I wish the public could "vote" Janette back in and demand a recount!

I am a latecomer to SYTYCD. I started with the last season. I have to say that none of the dancers this season can hold a candle to Joshua, Katee, Comfort, Twitch, Will, Kherington, Courtney, Gev or any of the dancers from last season. Nigel, et. al keep pumping up this season. It is not as good as last season's. Why didn't they show Joshua/Katee (No Air) or their Bollywood number from last season? I'm really sorry that I started watching this show so late - I just love it. Not so much this season.

This season overall has been lackluster and amazing at the same time. The top 20 was very strong, but it was difficult to become attached to just one or two dancers; everyone seemed to be very good. There's also not much variety in terms of dancers the closer and closer it is to the Finale. Everyone in the Top 8, save Jeanette, was a contemporary dancer of some kind. Correct me if I'm wrong.

More importantly, this season there have been routines that were just plain bad from a choreography stand-point. Like, in the most recent episode; Janine and Brandon's routine was just mind-blowingly bad because the music was so slow. The routine wasn't easy to watch either. And Evan and Jeanette's "Heartless" routine was almost equally as bad. The moves didnt match the song at all. In the end, the dancers cant do much if the routine they're given is bad; there's only so much they can do. The judges rely too much on the choreographers. This rarely happened last season.

I didn't watch the 100th episode - read the results online and figured I didn't need to see one hot mess!

I would disagree that Janette has the least amount of training out of all the girls - she has different training, for sure (since she is a latin ballroom dancer - forgot which style) but she's not not-trained. And I wouldn't be surprised if she has studied other forms (who would audition for SYTYCD by now without attempting various styles?). But I do think she moves amazingly well "for a ballroom dancer" - not as a put-down, but let's face it: ballroom requires certain posture and movement (more upright, more rigid).

I wasn't and still haven't been overly enthralled with any of the dancers this season, but I thought it would come down to Jeanine and Janette for the girls. Kayla is amazingly good but I'm not as drawn in when watching her dance, compared to the other two girls. Melissa - it's time for her to go already! I can't honestly say she should or should not have already gotten booted over the other girls that have left - because they were unmemorable - but compared to the other 3 girls, she just can't compare.

For the guys, I would guess Brandon and Jason. Evan is good - I like him - but I don't think he will win the shebang. Ade, like Melissa, should be the next dancer booted.

I've said week after week that I think the show is partly rigged - particularly how the dancers choose styles each week. I'm not sure how it could be rigged, but it just seems calculated. Melissa and Ade in the bottom two last week, this week get an emotional routine that everyone HAS to love (I wasn't affected by it, I didn't care for it, but I don't care about being politically correct).

The choreographers must know that what they choreograph will affect how the audience votes! (Whether it's a dance about cancer, being chained together, or zombies).
