(S11E04) Is it just me or does Jeff from Big Brother 11 have a real Jason Bateman thing going on? Of course, Jason Bateman has too much sense to go into the house of hamsters. But then again, this season with its high school theme could be a case of Arrested Development, right? I'm just talking in circles until we get off the main page just in case you haven't seen the show yet. Read on!
Well, it's basically a rather contrived concept -- high school cliques. But what's getting me is that it seems that the houseguests have been teleported through space and time right back to their high school ways and days! I realize the hamsters are fairly young for the most part, but they seem to be reverting back to the evils of high school with ease.
And it's all so stereotypical, too. The jocks are bullies and the off-beats are smart, but dramatic. The brains might have book sense, but they don't always play the game of life too well. Then there are those caught in the middle. Tonight it was Jeff and Jordan (an athlete and a popular kid) in that position.
Since I'm all about being entertained, I was pleased it all turned into a shouting brouhaha. Jordan thinks that Jeff told lies which got Braden put on the block. Lydia thinks Jordan betrayed her when she cried over Braden going on the block. Braden called Lydia a skank, bitch, and ho. Then he lit into Kevin calling him a [bleep]. The show bleeped it but it was the "beaner" slur from the live feeds.
Later in the show, Chima tried to use the slurs to promote herself. It really didn't do her much good, though. The Lips Who Can Fill a Room called Braden a racist and misogynist and "if you vote to keep him, you're a bigot." Oh my. Once again, the exact racial slur was bleeped.
I decided while watching the voting that I'm including Ronnie along with the Power Tools for a quick exit. He's so full of himself and how he plays the game. I think he's made two huge mistakes so far. First, he ran to Braden to tell him he was going to be backdoored. He should have just stayed out of it. Second, he's now aligned himself with the Power Tools ... who have huge targets on their backs. He betrayed his own little group and due to Ronnie's vote, Jess got to vote in a tiebreaker sending Braden home!
Oh, I don't agree with Braden's slurs. But in watching the show and the live feeds, Chima is too much priss and drama for me. I loved it when Casey said he was voting out "Chima's melodramatic behind." As a matter of fact, I'm thinking Casey is the one to watch at this point. He's friend to all, but is definitely playing the game with thoughts of staying in it. True, he sort of betrayed his jock buddies. But he never promised them that he'd vote their way. They knew he didn't care for Chima.
So Braden's gone and Julie Chen said something about Dan (BB10) returning to the house. I doubt he'd be a houseguest. I'm sure it's for some comp or something. However, I find it odd that the ChenBot mentioned it ahead of time. She must think he's a big star who will boost the ratings.

I agree with everything you said Jackie. The cast this year makes me feel a bit icky inside! I do like Casey, Jeff and Jordan. I really don't like Chima, Lydia, Ronnie or Natalie. Kevin seems like a follower. Laura seems alright and Michelle kinda just floats in the background. Its a shame that Russell is such a tool. I think he's kinda hot but his bully attitude is awful. And I think that Ronnie winning HOH is going to turn him into an even bigger weasel than he is. As far as Jesse, I think Russell may actually usurp him as biggest jerk in the house.

If you're crazy enough to view the live feeds or at least read the updates, Braden actually IS a racist and misogynist though. His comments were bleeped out last night, but he called Kevin some pretty demeaning slurs regarding his race and sexual orientation.
Chima was actually pretty spot on, that d-bag needed to go. It's a shame CBS/Big Brother rarely goes there in these fights when editing the live shows. It was much uglier than it appeared.

I agree with you 100% and I find it disconcerning how SOME people just gloss over racism like it is not a big deal.
I really liked Casey until after he said what he said about Chima. She is now my fav player in the game for sticking up for other people, and showing that all the isms should not be tolerated.
With that said... I think Lydia is going to be the true snake this season.

the house and this country as a whole really hates drama Queens spoiled ppl and divas(apparently more than racist misogynist) Chima should know that. Jordan seems nice but shes dumb and following Jeff also a dummy. Lydia is the really drama queen imho and Michelle is gross and a flip-flopping snake. And when did Russel or Jessie(both tools) ever threaten any1?

Jesse has a chance of winning this thing, he's not even the most narcissist this year! Ronnie thinking that nobody's know he's playing all side is the dumbest thing I've seen since I follow this show. If they get rid of Jeff now, the other alliance is going to have trouble winning any physical challenge.
But what a dumb cast... Did Lydia know that to win this thing you should not create enemies if you don't have to? Her argument with Jordan was so stupid, if she had played the incident with Braden differently she would have create sympathy for her.

I really don't see how Chima was acting like a drama queen. If she was, she would have thrown water on somebody, or have a screaming match in front of everyone. I think she handled herself with class, by telling everyone very calmly what Braden said, and what he was. I wish they would go back to the days when, people at home could vote.

No popular voting! It totally ruins the show. We have it on the Quebec version of the show, and it's 14 attention whores trying to be love by everyone. Must of them are pretty much telling every sad story that ever happen to them to gain sympathy. You can win by being popular even know you are an idiot...

I think Ronnie as HOH will be controlled by Russell and you will see Jeff and Jordan nominated. Ronnie is a weasel. Russell and Natalie control Jesse. They know he's really an idiot. Did you see the way he talked to Julie Chen? He kept throwing in comments that he thought was funny but it made him look stupid.

Well, it took a week to get interesting, but at least there is something worth watching go on now. Unfortunately, I was starting to like Ronnie, but now he just seems like a little sneaky *itch. Hope he and the Body Boobies go real soon, but somehow I doubt it.

I think Jesse and Russell are both egotistical dwarves who both believe they are smarter than the average bear. They most definitely are not. Chima is a diva and admitted at the beginning that she is a biotch. I'm trying to like Jeff but he's making it difficult to do so. Lydia won't last long because her "drama" is getting boring. Ronnie is in love with the idea that he plays the "game" well. He doesn't. Natalie is a floater, which will eventually bite her in the butt. Kevin is this seasons drama queen.
Casey, I agree, may be the hampster to watch this go-round.

I think Kevin and Lydia are so annoying. Every Big Brother puts a gay on the show so they dont affect the gay communities feelings its pretty ridiculous. I can't even watch him when he talks cause his voice bugs me so i fast forward.

Racial slurs are not cool, but calling someone a biatch or ho, get over yourself! Big deal! I'm sure that is not the worst thing she ever heard. And you kepp throwing yourself at the athletes, you are a ho!
Lydia has selective memory, because she so threw Braden and Jeff under the bus.
He's calling me names! Wah!
(And I'm a woman, and have no problem calling someone a slut or ho. At least the ones I know know they are and revel in it.)
Great post!

When Jesse doesn't look so bad in comparison to some of the others, you know it's a pretty bad group overall. I actually think he has a chance to go far, as Russell has taken his place as the biggest target in the house, and the others girls seem to hate Natalie.
I wanted to like and root for Jeff and Jordan, but hearing them often refer to others as f** just reveals them to be ignorant bigots like their buddy Braden and not the likable underdogs the editors want to portray them as. Their not all that bright either and don't seem to have any real strategy.
Casey and Laura seem to be smart and playing the game well, but Ronnie might target them this week continuing to play both sides between the Russel/ Jesse and Jeff/Jordan alliances.

Some of you have short memories. Chima's speech isn't what made her a drama queen. Did you see how she was acting after she lost the food comp? She is a drama queen. I'd want to get rid of that too.
