With ABC's Scrubs transforming into a teaching show instead of a hospital show, it seemed a pretty safe bet that most, if not all, of the new interns we met during the last season wouldn't make the new format. Throughout the season, only one of those characters really grew into a character that anyone gave a damn about: ice queen Denise. So I was pretty stoked to find that Eliza Coupe has officially been cast in the new season of Scrubs.
The report indicates she might be chief resident and thus will only appear when the new gang goes to Sacred Heart Hospital from time to time. Considering Denise was an intern when we last saw her, it makes me wonder if there will be any sort of time jump between the end of last season and the start of this new series.
I'd almost rather see Denise in a more regular capacity; it would help with the transition, and I think her gruff demeanor would be better suited for a school than a hospital. What do you think? Can you see Denise as the chief of medicine at Sacred Heart?

She was one of the high points in the final season.
I've been gaining weight all year in the hopes of hooking up with her!

Denise was the best intern after Cox fired Ed so no complaints.

for clarification... chief resident is different from chief of medicine. remember when elliot and jd were co-chiefs? I think it was in season 4? it's a fast forward of ~2 years -- probably easier to deal with than the fast forward of like 20 to take over cox's job as chief of medicine.
I loved denise, so I'm glad she'll be back in whatever capacity!
