I've been so busy feeling mildly annoyed and super-confused about Bravo's The Fashion Show, the "real" Project Runway has almost completely slipped my mind. Coverage has been shaky, and every time I try to find out something new, Isaac Mizrahi's hair obstructs my view and I give up. What I know is that the next season of the show will air on Lifetime and, thank whatever supernatural entity is responsible for reason and rhyme in fashion, Tim Gunn will be there. Oh, and Heidi Klum too.
Now, we can get to know some more faces in this new era for the program. Meet the new Project Runway designers.
The diversity looks pretty good with this group, and some of the pairings in the photos are rather funny. Pictured are Malvin Vien and Althea Harper, officially the most uncomfortable looking duo. Vien is just not havin' it, opting to awkwardly prop his hand on his hip, while Harper tries to be friendly with one arm around her buddy but her head looks like it can't get far enough away from him.
I also liked that they made the two oldest designers pose in a separate photo. How hilariously accidentally (?) ageist. The only variety that kind of bums me out is the range of experience, which is actually a little wide. I guess the show has given up on being something strictly for extra-green designers (I meant in terms of experience, not necessarily their stance on the environment or Martians).
Anyway, I'm looking forward to seeing what the program can do now that they're back in a home where they're wanted. Commence countdown to comprehensive posts listing all the designers' social media profiles and most embarrassing secrets online.
