Last night was the second season premiere of The Secret Life of the American Teenager, a show that's really superficial. That's not me saying that, it's Tom Shales at the Washington Post, who says that the show is "an unabashed throwback to soaps of ages past" and one that "makes no attempt to camouflage artifice and superficiality." And I think he likes the show (though it sounds like he hasn't watched a soap opera since 1976).What did you think of the season opener?

I watch this show with my 11 yr old daughter. It shows her how not to be and why one shouldn't have sex at a young age. It is so superficial and lord the drama and whining can be very annoying, but I hope it is teaching my daughter not to be that way and how quick life can go south. This episode where the mom becomes prego as well I think is how life is these days for many, unfort. Also if we look back at the Rosanne show, they did the same thing on there, so the whole trow back insight I feel is correct.
