If you enjoyed the Yo Teach ... ! clips Jason Schwartzman did to promote Judd Apatow's Funny People, then you'll dig the following teaser for HBO's Bored to Death. The upcoming comedy stars Schwartzman as a struggling writer who moonlights as a detective.
Writer Jonathan Ames is the man behind the series, which features an amazing cast including Zach Galifianakis (still riding a buzz from The Hangover), Ted Danson, Parker Posey and Saturday Night Live's Kristen Wiig.
Some folks are calling Bored to Death a hipper version of Castle, but I'm getting more of a Andy Barker P.I. vibe from the teaser. Schwartzman seems to be riffing on his idealistic loser role from I Heart Huckabees (which is great) and Galifianakis is just doing what he does best – belching out rude one liners. And Danson looks likes he's having a ball.
Bored to Death premieres in September on HBO (and it already looks funnier than the upcoming season of Entourage.) Will you watch?
