Here's a sneak peek at tonight's Top Chef Masters premiere
I'm not a big reality show fan, but if it involves food I might just watch it. Tonight Bravo debuts Top Chef Masters, which is Top Chef only with some of the best chefs in the country, including Wylie Dufresne, Rick Bayless, Cindy Pawlcyn, Anita Lo, and Art Smith. Here's a clip from the show. I wonder if this is going to be more foodie-oriented than trash talk/arguing-oriented?

No Tom? No Padma? Were they just not interested in participating in this Top Chef "extra" or is there another reason that has yet to be announced?

You're getting Top Chef confused with Hell's Kitchen.

PADMA is about as interesting as WET DISHWATER!! As she struggles to pronounce her words on what had to be the 11th take. . . At least this host has some life!!! (skinny as hell -- does she eat??) but at least life. . .
And umm their critic's table is kinda funny.
All the other reviewers in the other papers/blogs that got episodes are talking about the refreshing change of pace with it being foodie oriented and less desparate and trash-talking dog-eat-dog vibe!
I'm excited to see it!

I wanted this last night and I really, really enjoyed it. Experienced chefs that have great personality and know what they're doing put in tough Top Chef situations make for great entertainment. I don't miss Padma, but I do miss Tom. On the plus side, it's like watching the "what crazy hat can that one food critic wear today" show?
