It's Hammer Pants Dance time!
I think this, a promotion for A&E's MC Hammer reality show, is one of the scariest things I've seen in a long time. I can't imagine calmly shopping in a clothing store and then being swamped by dozens of dancers in Hammer pants running and dancing while "U Can't Touch This" is cranked up on the sound system. I'd rather be RickRolled.

I thought it was kind of awesome. However, if the dancers hadn't outnumbered the customers (if they kept it at the geeky two in the beginning), were slightly quieter (was there really a need for the yelling at the beginning/end), and weren't quite so aggressive (I'm looking at you, guy with the checkered polo shirt), I think the customers would've felt in on the joke moreso -

Yeah, even though it was a setup for a commercial for what will probably be a really crappy show... Great flash mob.
I hope this signals the end of the meme.

Cute, but I would've enjoyed it more if it had been an actual flash mob instead of a marketing gimmick.

I agree.
I honestly thought there would be more laughs even though the shoppers were stunned as hell. Were they just cynical b/c crazy shit happens all the time in L.A.?

I think that's the problem of an ordered flashmob. Some actors don't get it that you can't be that much in-your-face. You are the mob, you already scare the people by your sheer numbers, you don't need to yell you don't need to rush them.
But I still laughed :-)
