Everyone knows that there is drama between Jon and Kate and the episode following the well-gawked-at season premiere totally blankets over the whole situation. Instead of having Jon and Kate face their demons, the show decided to pretend like nothing happened. The situation between Jon and Kate reminds me of the strain between Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz. TLC decided to go the way of the ailing sitcom and implant celebrity guests. No more paparazzi shots and stress about the relationship; instead we'll get visits from outside forces. Yay for whitewashing.
Although this season isn't the first episode to have celebrities (The Harlem Globetrotters and Shane Victorino come to mind) it seems like the celebrities will be popping up more often. There must be struggles getting the ten Gosselins out into the world with the paparazzi hassling the family. To compensate, TLC will bring the world to the Gosselins.
Our first guests of the season were the crew over at Charm City Cakes. Anyone who watches Ace of Cakes knows how lovable Chef Duff and his rag-tag group of friends are so watching them interact with the children was amazing. The funny thing is that they never uttered the words Ace of Cakes; instead Kate mentions "that cake show." I appreciate that the show picked a show/brand that wasn't in the Discovery Network family, but I fear that Duff will be the last non-Discovery celebrity in a while. I'm a little surprised that they allowed a new episode of Cake Boss to show right after, but the two shows are quite different and probably have two different audiences.
As much as I love Duff Goldman and his cakes, I don't see why America can't have a few episodes where the show focuses on the children. Each child has gained a stronger personality (and a stronger command of English) and the parents having another set of one-on-ones are some of the best episodes. The episodes could even be Jon or Kate with one kid and they won't have to deal with their interpersonal struggles.
In the next two weeks we have more guest stars visiting the Gosselins. For the big 100th episode (I'm not sure how they counted the episodes but it's actually either episode 96 or 99 but I digress) Emeril Lagasse is cooking them dinner. The week after, the family from American Chopper is building Jon a motorcycle. From all the commercials, I thought that the Teutuls were going through familial/business struggles as well.
I guess we'll have to wait for more unnecessary crossovers to keep the audience entertained. Who would you like to see visit the Gosselins? Personally, I'm still waiting for the day when Bear Grylls brings Kate out into the woods and she freaks out every second she's outside. Then she'll admit that she's doing it for her kids. That's television gold waiting to happen.

I'm pretty sure the episodes were not shown in the order they were filmed. The premiere episode with the sextuplets birthday party was filmed in May when the stories about Jon & Kate's marital woes were making the front pages, which is why they had to address those issues. The two episodes last night, with Kate's birthday at Charm City Cakes and then Kate & Mady in San Diego were obviously filmed earlier, when they were trying to keep their marital problems on the down low.

They really show take the show off the air. Fame has gone to both their heads, Kate more than Jon and the children are being forgotten. I love Duff, but wish he hadn't done the show. I know he did it only for the kids, but seeing him with the parents really bothered me. Especially since Kate called his show "the cake show" what a bitch.

The "real" has left the "reality" part of the show since they started and will incorporate more and more "guests" on their show. It feels more like a show (even though the kids are having fun) and less like a look into their lives.
I know this has been said before but something is disturbing about a mother (say what you will) and a father that allowed to have a major film crew and major lighting-(if you havent been either on a set, or a reality show-the lighting is INSANE) in their childrens innocent lives! Something about growing up ONLY knowing cameras in your face MUST do something to the kids. If not now, then later. Its scary to me-no matter how "great" a mom and dad you think they are! Its disturbing!!!
As for the guest to visit them...A marriage councelor and family therapist would be two great guests. Pair them up with a lawyer who can break the contract for this year and you will make me happy.
This is so gross and what is even more creepy are these people that watch the show! There are plenty of family orientated shows, and plenty of other helpfull tips for parenting shows than to watch theirs. ewwwww!
Check out all of youtube where these freaks post videos designated for one of the children. A scrapbook of someone elses kids! Ick. Ick. Ick.

Not saying it's not strange to post video scrap books of kids from television, but really what is the difference between doing that for one of the J&K kids than for say, Hillary Duff or Miley Cyrus, or any celebrity for that matter?
Personally I think it's all weird to have such devotion to people you don't even know irl, but I wouldn't call it sick or out of the ordinary.

I have been a fan and enjoyed watching the kids grow. Jon and Kate's parenting was admirable. Now it seems as tho they are "doing their own thing" seperately
, and I for one will NOT be watching the show an longer!

The real drama is unfolding in a haze of late night bad editing and impromptu camera dancing on http://www.bradisadad.com - don't miss a single episode.
Jon and Kate got nothing on me.
