With Battlestar Galactica and The Sarah Connor Chronicles now gone, I'll be looking to Warehouse 13 for my summer sci-fi fix. Thankfully, it looks like a pretty cool show. I like the concept, and I'm digging the Whedonesque vibe of the Sci Fi Channel's latest preview clip and the show's official trailer. Now I have another reason to tune in. Actually, I have four more reasons. The show will be loaded with great geek-friendly guest stars, including BSG's Michael Hogan, Tricia Helfer and Whdeonverse vet Mark Sheppard. Stargate Atlantis alum Joe Flanigan will also appear on the show.
It looks like Sheppard and Hogan could appear in multiple episodes. Hogan plays the father of Secret Service agent Myka Bering (Joanne Kelly), the show's female lead, and Sheppard plays the head of the mysterious outfit that runs Warehouse 13.
And what exactly is Warehouse 13? It's the place where the government stores supernatural artifacts. Myka and Agent Peter Lattimer (Eddie McClintock) are assigned to locate these objects and bring them back to the warehouse. I know it sounds a bit like The X-Files, but I think it'll be able to find its own groove.
The show is written and produced by former BSG and Buffy writer Jane Espenson and Farscape creator Rockne S. O'Bannon. So it's gotta be good, right?
Warehouse 13 premieres July 7 with a two-hour pilot on Sci Fi.

These 'Sci Fi Writers' are not fooling me,this is yet another idea lifted straight out of comic books...a comic called 'Area 52' has exactly the same concept of 'a warehouse where all the secret artifacts are kept by the gov'...Dollhouse is a direct ripoff from Cyblade and Cyforce the Image made comic book...coincidently made by big comic book fan J. Whedon...
Mark Millers latest comic book was put on hold to be made into a hollywood movie...
and to think the comic genre was sneered at for the most time...
Heroes has a lot to answer for...
but these plagerisms are getting too much now

More Tricia Helfer? She's certainly been busy since BSG wrapped. Maybe this time they'll let her play a character that isn't a b*tch on wheels, like she was on Burn Notice and Chuck.
