The networks are in the process of recasting some of their new shows before the fall season starts. Some of the shows getting new cast members include ABC's The Forgotten, CBS' NCIS: Los Angeles, and Three Rivers, also from CBS.Don't worry Alex O'Loughlin fans. Three Rivers' hunky vamp turned transplant surgeon isn't going anywhere. But his lead co-star, Julia Ormond, has been shown the door. CBS has yet to announce who will replace Ormond on the show. If they're smart, the network will try to nab O'Loughlin's former Moonlight co-star, Sophia Myles, to replace Ormond.
Our coverage of Moonlight and our recent interview with O'Loughlin taught us a few things: There are tons of Moonlight fans out there. They love O'Loughlin, and they'll watch anything he does. O'Loughlin fans also love Sophia Myles. They couldn't get enough of Mick and Beth's season-long love story on Moonlight.
The idea of casting Myles in Three Rivers might seem like a cheap gimmick to grab and keep Moonlight's devoted audience, and it might be, but it's more than that.
Myles is a great actress. Plus she's beautiful and her onscreen chemistry with O'Loughlin can't be beat. Simply put, Three Rivers might turn out to be a better show with Myles on board, and CBS will have an even bigger instant fanbase for the show once it debuts in the fall. I might even watch it.
What do you say, Moonlight fans? Do you want to see Sophia Myles on Three Rivers?

I agree Julie Ormond is a great actress....she is also 10 years older than the lead actor...a big no, no in Hollywood where it is almost never acceptable for the female romantic lead to be older than the male romantic lead. Sophia Myles on the other hand is still in her 20s, just 'right' in the eyes of Hollywood. Not saying I agree with it, but I would guess Ormond's older age played a role in her part being recast.

Yes, Yes. Oh please Sophia Myles...She IS beautiful. Julia Ormond...Gosh, I hadn't seen her since that Gweneviere movie. She's always been a bit weepy for my taste. Kinda thought she went out with the 90's. Sorry Julia Ormond fans.

I think Sophia is great but if she'd be replacing Julie Ormond I don't think it would work....Sophia is simply to young to be the head of surgery. She could be a surgical resident though. :)

I love Sophia, but I think it would be a big mistake. I think it's better to make a clean break from Moonlight.. as far as career moves go for Alex, rather than muddy it up with coupling him with Sophia so soon.
I hope they work again together in the future..but for now, I hope they cast someone else.
I also agree that Sophia is too young for that role.

Oh please, yes Sophia Myles...please...I really don't like Julia Ormond all that much. She's a bit too weepy for my taste. Gosh I haven't seen her since that Gweneviere flick.

I think bringing Sophia back with Alex won't be good for his career, he needs to be away from anything related to Moonlight and start fresh.
I do think Sophia is a talented and beautiful actress and together with Alex they had an incredible screen chemistry but for now would be best if Alex start getting recognized and remembered for his talents and not only for his role as the vampire Mick St. John!

I think it's a crying shame that they're axing Julia Ormond. She has a strong female presence and she's a terrific actress. One other point, who said her character was destined to be a love interest for Alex O'Loughlin's character? That's never been stated anywhere. If there was going to be a love interest, my money is on Kate Moennig's character, Miranda.
I think Sophia Myles is a fine actress, but she's FAR too young to be playing head of surgery. And besides, let's don't jump the shark with stunt casting before the show's even debuted. Myles in Three Rivers would be a mistake of major proportion. Let's leave Moonlight in the past and let Three Rivers be Three Rivers, shall we?

Okay, DO NOT toy with my emotions!! Sophia Myles added to the cast would be what it would take to get me to watch Three Rivers. She's the reason I started to watch Moonlight in the first place!

I love Sophia, but would rather see her in a moonlight
movie series with Alex, Jason and Shannon. CBS might
consider Reiko Aylesworth, who was outstanding on 24,
but please get someone as equally talented as Alex.

Alex & Sophia had chemistry on screen we all know that.
In my opinion CBS would be crazy not to do it especially if they are really serious about wanting the Moonlight Fanbase to tune into Three Rivers. What better way to do that then to add Sophia opposite Alex on Three Rivers.

I think Sophia is great but she is way to young to be the head of a hospital. Plus I think Alex O'Loughlin is so incredibly talented he doesn't need anyone from Moonlight to help make this show a success, he can and will do that all on his own!

I certainly hope they bring Sophia Myles to Three Rivers to be oppositve Alex O'Loughlin. I look at the Moonlight DVD series just to see them together. They have a passion and a chemistry to die for.

Alex would do great with Sophia - with anyone else I won't watch! They have fantastic chemistry - Alex without Sophia is like peanut butter without jelly.

If only. I agree that Sophia's too young for this role. It would be nice, though, if she made a guest appearance.

There will also be millions of Korean drama fans watching this show, because Dan Henney is in it. I would think that this fanbase is larger than moonlight fanbase, since Korean drama is #1 in Asia and in places like Kurdistan. Of course, that's outside of the world-view of this site since most people here have no idea who Dan is or how incredibly popular he is around the world. I will be watching this show too - and I have stopped watching American drama years ago - just to see Dan Henney on American TV.
