How many times have we Internet bloggos reported the cancellation of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles?
It seems like the series was killed and resurrected a dozen times during its second season. At this point, it's hard to believe Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello who is telling us that the show is dead and will not rise again no matter how much its fans kick and scream. But it looks like Fox has officially canceled TSCC.
If this news is true, at least we can say that TSCC went out with some major cajones, delivering a twist ending that surprised and shocked the hell out of even the most die hard fans.
Still, I'm sad to see it go. The show hooked me during its short first-season run, but its more challenging and rewarding second season turned me into a full-blown Terminator fanboy. It's a shame that millions of viewers never saw what turned out to be a very compelling sci-fi series with a surprising amount of ambition and depth -- and kick ass robot-on-robot brawls.

Damn it!
I swore I wasnt going to get my hopes up but then you guys posted Dollhouse got renewed and I thought "Surely, if that gets a second chance with its rating then so will Terminator."
Of course after I said that to myself I had to also say, "Dumbass, you're getting your hopes up...and don't call me Shirley"

I think it was a matter of either Dollhouse or Sarah Connor being renewed, they were never gonna renew both of them. I have to say I'm glad that it was Dollhouse because I was never able to get into Sarah Connor. Needless to say though, but it's always a downer for fans of a show when it gets canned.

Wasn't this SCC's second chance already? At least they didn't cancel it after four or nine episodes, like they did with others.

Damn Fox. And damn the stupid people with attention spans the size of ants who can't understand anything beyond "American Idol" or "Celebrity Toilet Flushing." I blame the stupidity of the viewers. I always say "stupid people make stupid things profitable." But the corollary of that is true, too - stupid people make intelligent things unprofitable. Unfortunately the number of stupid people far exceeds the number of intelligent ones.
TSCC would probably have done better if they resorted to nothing more than a "terminator of the week" find/chase/run/destroy formula. Frankly that's what I expected the show to be, but to my pleasant surprise it was far deeper and more thoughtful than I'd ever imagined it would be.
And Dollhouse, with its flawed premise and nonsensical plot gets renewed. Although it's only getting a (shortened) second season, which is less than TSCC got. It just annoys me insofar as both shows were on the bubble at the same time and Dollhouse, and that's the one that gets renewed over TSCC. Very lame.
Well, you dumb jackfucks now have an extra hour on Fox that can be filled with yet another hour of American Idol. Enjoy it, and may your brain rot out of your head. You should have to suffer in the innermost circle of hell where you're forced to listen to Simon Cowell yell at you for all eternity as your eyes are glued open and you're forced to watch the same Vanilla Ice/Carrot Top/Roseanne Barr episode of "Celebrity Masturbation" over and over and over again.

I stopped buying Fox DVDs out of protest when they canceled Arrested Development, and was only just getting back into the fold. Now I'm pi$$ed all over again, and I'll be looking for secondhand copies of House and 24 all over again.
TSCC was a great program (despite the odd wobble) and with the new Terminator film round the corner, this might be another Extra Stupid Fox decision.

while it was a good show I'm not terribly surprised. Since the show is part of a larger franchise, I have a feeling the show was mainly served to keep interest alive for "Terminator" until the new movies started to come out. now that the new movie will be out this week the show really doesn't have much of a purpose if it's not essentially advertising something or getting ratings for Fox. I love the show too, but I wouldn't be completely surprised if that was the reasoning behind the cancellation.

Add my disappointment to the pile.
When I was viewing a Terminator Salvation trailer, I believe it read on the screen: "Forget The Past" - and because TSCC is so dear to me, those words nettled me. I don't even know what they wanted me to forget, but I saw it as a jab at my show.

Frak! What a way to start the week. i was hoping the movie would help TSSC get renewed but it looks like that won't happen. Is there an "official" statement from FOX other than what Ausiello refers to without any evidence?
The last episodes were great and it would be shame not to see how the story played out. I wish they would give it a shortened season at least to wrap up the series. So, what do you think would have happened? I think it would have been interesting if the series came back with only Sarah, leaving John trapped in the future. At the end of the series, John returns to the past to find Sarah gone and to witness Judgement Day.
How would you like to see it end?

Any chance of this getting picked up by another network? I'd at least like to see some resolution on the season finale. :P It will be missed, though I am glad to see Dollhouse make it out alive - hopefully it will be given a better timeslot.

Well, maybe The 'Sarah' Connor Chronicles are over, but, another Terminator show is in the works? I know, far fetched...but...John did leave her in the past.

Frak! TV is now a barren wasteland. I cannot take solace that Dollhouse was renewed. I love most of Joss Whedon's work to this point, but Dollhouse is simply ridiculous. The plot holes, the constant deus ex machina devices, the frequent "lets put a doll in the chair just to use the flashing lights" moments. It's poor.
TSCC, on the other hand, took a fantastic premise that we have been noodling for nearly 20 years and gave it new life, new "reality" and plausibility, and new humanity. I concur with Bruce: stupid is as stupid watches. Fox once again demonstrates that it is after the lowest intellectual common denominator.
I must succumb, I suppose. Bring on another season of my big fat fake fiance!

Heartbroken. Completely in denial that this has happened. I'm still hoping for a miracle. TSCC was the only show (besides the late great BSG) that had me on the edge of my seat waiting for more. The season finale was mindblowing. And now we won't get to see the relationship build between John and his father, or what happens with John and Alison, how he becomes the leader of the resistance....
I feel like I've been punched in the gut.

I wouldn't mind a couple of straight to dvd movies a year from Warners, could be a great idea.

I tried to like this show and at times I did. The John Connor character ruined it. His woe is me attitude and inability to stay out of trouble was tiring and predictable.
Too many plot lines started with. " John whatever you do don't do that/go there".

That irritated me too...but it ended when his girlfriend was murdered. Then, he manned up and became a leader. Truly great television.

When will FOX stop breaking the nerd fanboy heart? Again we are let down by this station's inability to believe in something worthwhile and give it time. Instead they give shows like "till death" and "Prisonbreak" all the seasons in the world and then final movies to wrap things up. What the heck FOX?! I really hope SciFi (SyFy?) picks this show up and also resurrects Jericho another amazing show that ended too early.
