There are a lot of shows with their heads on the chopping block, but one that truly deserves a stay of execution is furiously wiggling its head out of the neck brace. Show producers are negotiating with local CW affiliates to bring Reaper back on Sunday nights next season in syndication. The deal could also bring the show to cable.
The Hollywood Reporter, however, notes that either scenario is a bigger long shot than Roseanne's chances of getting another crack at singing the National Anthem at a Padres' home game.
The paper notes that economics could play a big factor in the show's future, since syndicated shows are created on smaller budgets, and Reaper can be a highly complex mix of special effects and demon makeup. So unless the show could find some real demons willing to work for scale ...
Then Tyler Labine has committed to doing a pilot for ABC that the network just picked up for its new season. If the show takes off, he might have to give up his role on Reaper as part of his new contract. And the last thing anyone wants to do in TV land is break their contract. Satan only demands a pound of human flesh and the heart of a sinner for breaking one of his clauses. That's an overdue library fine compared to what a major TV network demands for breaking one of its contracts.
It seems the only way this show can survive another season is by way of a divine miracle. So if you've started praying to the god of your choice to save this show, stop already. God has bigger beefs on his plate. Then again, if God does save Reaper from cancellation, that might explain a lot of other things like swine flu and Dick Cheney.

USA would be perfect, but don't hold your breath. It's too bad.

I think this one is dead no matter what by now, sadly.
I guess no show can stay on the air if it's not on cable.

Thanks for the support of Reaper!
Reaper Fans! Write your CW affiliate and say there's a fanbase in your area and it would be a ratings boost for them on Sunday nights! Look up your CW affiliate here: http://www.cwtv.com/stations. Also write to ABC Studios --http://abc.go.com/site/contactus.html?lid=ABCCOMGlobalFooter&lpos=CONTACT -- encouraging them to keep promoting the syndication of Reaper! International viewers, write your affiliates/networks too. Draft emails and other ideas at http://community.livejournal.com/reaperdmv/44208.html. Come on, folks! This is our chance!
If you’re thinking that Tyler’s new show and Michele/Tara’s new contract at Fox mean the show isn’t coming back: Tyler says that Reaper has contractural priority, and Tara told us that she and Michele would still be consultants if Reaper gets a third season. So, write!

Tyler Labine would likely have a clause in his contract, probably one of the first ones, that specifies that all other offers are second to his Reaper commitment.
He's probably a bit conflicted. On one hand, Sons of Tuscon is likely not filmed in Vancouver, where he's from and where his family is.
On the other hand, it probably pays much better.

I haven't had a liking for a show this strong since.... Buffy. I think.
Anyways I was hoping for some miracle to come down and save thisshow, I didn't think it would come.
If this show can manage to replace Sock with someone decent (yeahyeah I know) then I will give it a chance. The show just has so muchuntapped potential still. I just hope no one else thinks they might be "too big" forsyndication or some bull like that and they end up replacing thewhole cast. Then I probably wouldn't bother.
And to whoever said it should end up on USA, I agree with that. That was the first network I though of.

They could replace Tyler with Kevin Smith and I doubt if it would make a difference. I liked the show, but it wasn't going anywhere.
