I'm not sure why, but Motley Crue is on Bones tonight
30 Rock isn't the only show tonight that has musical guest stars. The season finale of Bones has a performance from...Motley Crue! Yes, it's 1988 all over again! Not sure why this of all bands are making an appearance on the show (is one of the characters a fan? Was Slayer not available), but here's a clip of them singing "Dr. Feelgood" in the episode.

I didn't know, but Bones airs a day early in my part of Canada. I was wondering why all the sites were so quiet on the subject! Now I know.
So I waiting patiently to hear echoes of my thoughts of the finale, which consisted of, "WTF?!? Did Bones just jump the shark??" (Course, they might have done that in the "Circus" episode.

I was confused by the band of choice too. But it wasn't too terrible. it's really not that strange since one of the ZZ Top guys is Angela's dad on the show. 80s music pops up more often that you'd think on the show. They should have gone with ZZ Top instead come to think of it.

If you watch some of the interviews FOX has on their site the band says they went on to promote CrueFest, or whatever it is. Also the producers thought "Dr. Feelgood" was appropriate for Booth's errrr medical issues.

Why not? The appearance of Motley Crue did nothing to enhance or detract from the episode.
The song choice was more or less appropriate. The band only showed up at the very end so we didn't have to deal with them trying to act. Certainly fits the Booth character to want Motley Crue to play.

I think this episode was good, funny, and sweet. You quickly realize that your in Booths head as he recovers and the whole gang is there. They creatively incorporated all the interns and side characters that appeared on the show this season. I like how some characters were the same, but others were vastly different. Plus the end was left a me with a bewildering "Whoa" and I'm not talking about Booth saying "Who are you?" I'm talking about the fact that you assume through the whole episode you are in Booths head, but then at the end Bones is writer and you remember that she is a writer after all and could have been writing this bizzare story as a cathartic thing to get her through while Booth was out. So your left wondering, which is it? Has Bones finally come to realize somethings about her and Booth?
I really enjoyed seeing the Actors in these slightly different roles. Sweets singing was fun. Hodgin's as a mystery writer was funny and Daisy became a complete nympho air head, but most of all what rang true whether it was in Booth's Head or Bone's writing Both are the Caretakers of the bizzare family and they would do anything to protect each other. Kudos for adding such a unique story. Keep it up!

Why does there not seem to be anyone blogging for bones?
Anyway, after dealing with the "house" hallucination Monday, I was not happy with this episode at all as a season finale. On the plus side, you know you are in Booth's head from the beginning and it is a cute little story. The big, big, negative is that the producers, writers, and stars have spent over a month touting the fact that Bones and Booth "do it" and go so far as to say "no, it won't turn out to be a dream it really happens" in TV Guide yet, and then this. I do not think them getting together would be jumping the shark. I believe that the build up to this fantasy episode, which would have been fine as a stand alone earlier in the season, was in its own way jumping the shark. It makes me sad because this is a great ensemble show, with great acting and an unmistakable chemistry between the two leads. It has survived terrible mistreatment by Fox and I just hope it survives this. also, stop stealing so many plot/relationship points from the X-files please.

Okay, I guess it’s just me but I didn’t think what happen was in Booth’s head. I thought it was in Bones’ head in the form of a novel like story we see her typing on her laptop. ??? If Booth is asking her who she is when he comes out of the coma how then could that whole episode have been in his head?
Either way it feels like a “fake” story to me and puts everything back at square one in the “will they or won’t they?” aspect of things. I feel ripped off. (I can’t believe I rushed home to see that.)
Oh yeah, why isn’t there a TVSquad blog about the episode?
