Producer Rob Thomas' comedy Party Down has earned a second season on Starz.Party Down hasn't exactly pulled in huge ratings during its debut season, but Starz still seems to believe in the show. The cable network is bringing the entire cast and crew back to film new episodes next summer, with one possible exception. Actress Jane Lynch is committed to Fox's Glee, which means she won't be available for another full season of Party Down. Starz is hoping to bring her back for a few episodes only.
I hope Lynch returns to the show in some capacity, but I'm glad to hear the rest of the cast is sticking around. Party Down is a great dark and funny show that boasts an incredible cast of comedic actors. The show stars Ken Marino, Martin Starr, Adam Scott, Lizzy Caplan and Veronica Mars' Ryan Hansen as unlucky Hollywood actors working as caterers. Scott will join Thomas and Paul Rudd as a producer for season two.
Season one of Party Down wraps May 22 with a guest appearance by Veronica Mars herself, Kristen Bell.

It's a great show, it's a shame that no one in his right mind pays for Starz. What's more, the thing isn't filled with swearing and nudity, so it could play on cable or network TV, I hope it does get syndicated eventually, and gets a following it deserves.

I don't know what episodes you've watched but the "f" word is thrown aaround a lot. Shame about Lynch, she is the funniest of the lot.

"Isn't filled with swearing and nudity"
I guess that's true. I've seen shows with more swearing, and there isn't nudity in every single episode (although the porn awards ep makes up for it). If you assume that "filled with swearing and nudity" means that there's a naked person on screen the entire time, dropping f-bombs left and right, "Party Down" doesn't fit the bill.

Of course this show isn't getting huge ratings. It's on Starz. Put in on Showtime or HBO and the ratings would be better. I think it's a great show, and I can't get enough of it. I'm glad it's coming back.

Yeah, I meant that it's not a Sopranos episode with cocksucker and motherfucker used instead of punctuation. Not to mention the Bada Bing girls featured prominently in almost every episode. Here, it's far more subdued.
It's a good show, I wonder how it ended up on Starz. Did HBO and Showtime passed?

See, that's the problem with Starz. There isn't enough swearing, and hardly ANY nudity. Sometimes I just want some semi-porn. Not the whole enchilada. While the wife has a laptop, I'm still in the stone age with my desktop computer, which sits in our dark basement. Sometimes, Daddy just wants a little sunlight to grace his naked body while he pleasures himself.
