judd apatowAMC's Storymakers returns this Friday with guests including Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, as well as film directors Nick Cassavetes and Judd Apatow. The show features a round table discussion with the guests and hosts Peter Bart, former editor-in-chief of Variety, and film producer Peter Guber.

I've never seen the show, but I'll definitely catch this Friday's episode. I can't wait to see what the dynamic is like between two great but very different filmmakers like Cassavetes and Apatow, and two pampered stars like Cruise and Diaz.

Cruise will apparently talk about his desire to direct, which might get a chuckle or two from Apatow. Cassavetes and Diaz just finished working together on the drama My Sister's Keeper. "They should give tissues with it as a promo," Diaz told the AP about the film. And Apatow? The director of Knocked Up and the upcoming Funny People (which looks awesome) will defend the current trend of male nudity in big screen comedies.

I'm really looking forward to listening to Apatow talk about his new film and his past TV work (Freaks and Geeks, Undeclared). I think the director delivers a great balance of comedy and drama in his films. I'd love to hear what Nick Cassavetes (son of John Cassavetes) has to say about Apatow's work.

Storymakers airs at 10 p.m./9 Central.
