Glenn Beck had an ACORN spokesman on his show last night, and got into an argument with him about voter registration and possible fraud. Beck has the right to throw out anyone, it's his show after all. Though the analogy of the Burger King bather is kinda out of nowhere. (After the jump, the aftermath). Beck also says that the guest asked a show producer out on a date after this happened!
I'm no fan of Glen Beck's. He's a ridiculous blowhard with about as much journalistic merit and integrity as your average field mouse. BUT... that Acorn guy is a NITWIT. I would have thrown him off my show, too. He never gave a straight answer. He tried to duck and doge and manipulate the context of the conversation to avoid taking responsibility for his organization's actions. They need a better representative to go on TV interview shows; somebody who can talk and argue intelligently, with some manners who doesn't consistently just "keep talking" jibberish so the other guy can't get a word in edgewise. Unbelievable.
And this surprises who? It's just a matter of time before someone on Fox "News" just snaps.
While you might get some long winded intellectual tirade from John Stewart or Keith Olbermann, they seem less likely to jump over the desk and beat the holy hell out of someone they don't agree with.
My bet is on Bill O'Reilly one day he'll forget to take his meds and BAM! Blood on the walls.
Yes, yes everyone on AOL loves the GOP and FOX...flame away.
You know what? I just watched this whole video again. Glen Beck is an ass. He wasn't interested in the truth. He wanted to pick a fight to boost his lagging ratings. Even when the Acorn guy started trying to clarify things, Glen kept sticking to a single point, which had very little to do with the general discussion. My opinion of him just lowered, and I didn't think that was possible.
Man Glenn Beck needs to learn to argue better. Even if Beck was right, on his overall assumption, how he was going about it was just dead wrong. And he wouldn't listen to a thing the Acorn guy said, whatsoever, despite the Acorn fellow being a moron. That analogy was just stupid to make, it makes no sense in the context of the argument, he could have come up with a better one, that's for sure.
But at least he had that fellow on afterwards, who was far more intelligible than both Beck and Acorn fellow.
Haven't watched Glenn Beck in a while... and wow, just wow.
The second guest he had on was trying to make an interesting and compelling point -- that there are problems with ACORN, that even democrats at the local level are trying to out the problems and are sick of it, and every time Beck spoke he just tried to be silly or sarcastic or make some stupid point almost unrelated to what the guest had just said.
How does this guy have his own show and so many followers? Are they all as condescending and sarcastic as he is?
Um, he accused Beck of being a racist, why should he put up with that? Bob Sassone should have included that in his write-up, but I guess that wouldn't have gone over with the lefty fringe that is attacking Beck in these comments.
Last time I checked, he has killer ratings that supposed "intelectual" keith olberman would die for. What an overrated bore that olberman is.
That's funny how you put the word 'intellectual' in quotes attempting to deride Olbermann's intelligence...
I assume you were trying to be funny spelling the word incorrectly. I doubt someone deriding another person's intelligence would spell 'intellectual' incorrectly by accident...
I'd take Ed Schultz and Keith Olbermann over Glenn Beck everyday and twice on Sunday. He's an idiot. And that's why he couldn't stick with CNN. PERIOD.
Glenn Beck is probably a borderline schizophrenic. At the very least, he's bipolar. I can't even watch him for two minutes without wanting to barf. And since someone mentioned CNN, WHY CAN'T THEY BRING BACK AARON BROWN? I sure miss having a reasonable voice these days. I can't even watch Olbermann anymore, since he decided to buy into his own press and his head is so big now it just might explode, right after Glenn Beck's eyeballs explode (he keeps threatening -- I'd watch that, actually).
The American people elected Bush twice, or maybe just one. Yes they are idiots. By the way, the people who trumpet Fox News' ratings are the ones that deride the mainstream media. Guess what? Fox is the mainstream media.
When will you boys simmer down? The ACORN guy was a douche. Beck is a bit on the crazy side...but at least he admits it. Now most of YOU on the other hand...just kidding...don't go all using asterisks to imply my mental state.
I'd like to believe that if Billy Zane were watching that first interview he would have said:
"It's a douche-off."
It's only a matter of time before this signal is found by aliens who will decide that Earth needs to be destroyed before our atomic douchery infects the rest of the galaxy.
What Beck does not mention, when he goes off on ACORN in Nevada is that ACORN is the one that caught those employees committing fraud and then turned them in. For 3 months ACORN asked the state attorney general to investigate and prosecute those employees. Nothing came of this.
Then all of a sudden the state of Nevada claims that they have info that ACORN employees were committing voter registration fraud. Of course the state had this info. . . ACORN gave it to them to begin with.
ACORN nationally has a policy of no second chances on voter registration fraud. People are told this on the first day of work. If ACORN catches an employee committing fraud, ACORN will fire them right then and there and turn them over to the authorities. Beck would not let that man say that.If you notice, Beck was trying to lead him into an ambush. He purposely did not let him say that, in order to attempt to twist the spoke person's words.
GB is full of crap. It is very convenient that he claims that the ACORN spokes person accused him of being afraid of black people off camera. With no camera proof there is no way to disprove what he alleges.
Beck would not let him answer any of the questions.
MK is right although instead of saying that the majority of the American people are idiots I would say they are naive and ignorant of the facts and they proved that very effectively last November.

Say what you want about Glen Beck and his mental problems or lack of intelligence...
But do you really want to attack Fox News by putting News in quotes?
Fox News gets double the viewership of the next news network, and they doubled their profits in the middle of a recession.
If they are so bad, how could so many people be watching?
