Reaper: My Brother's Reaper

Reaper(S02E10) What better way to celebrate Cinco De Mayo then watching the Devil once again torment Sam Oliver. I liked that they made some progress with the whole Morgan storyline. It would be a good story to have Morgan escape Hell to hunt down Sam for vengeance while Sam has to hunt Morgan to get him back to Hell.

I'm glad there was an ulterior motive for Nina's flirtations with Morgan, otherwise there is no logical explanation for her attraction to Ben. Ben is not evil. Ben is the opposite of evil. If a demon is attracted to evil, she would not be attracted to Ben.

On the other hand, I thought Morgan would sleep with Nina before the episode finished, thus ending (or at least complicating) both their characters. I didn't see that twist coming.

For the record, I want stripper clowns at the next bachelor party I attend. What an awesome idea. I also want to eventually own an attack bear named Bear-y Manilow. That will keep the damn kids off my front lawn.

We had a lot of the characters acting like dicks this episode. Sock doesn't count, because he always acts like a dick. It's in his nature. Morgan was acting like a dick, but again it's in his nature. The Devil's dickitude goes without saying. Gary (whose kimonos were stunning) was a dick until his repentance via Steve at the end. Ted was nice at first, then turned into a dick. Even Sam was acting a little like a dick. Perhaps the whole theme of the episode, if not the show, is how to react in a world full of dicks.

When you sign your soul to Satan, aren't you supposed to sign in blood? What was with the pen?

Those women to whom Ray Wise was selling the collagen shots looked like rejects out of one of those "real housewives" reality shows. I think that was intentional.

Favorite Ray Wise line of the evening: "I know a guy who will literally kill for Madonna tickets."

As with Buffy the Vampire Slayer before it, death in the Reaper world doesn't necessarily preclude you from future episode appearances, as Michael Ian Black proves this time around. Admittedly, his appearance was brief and he didn't even have to be in the studio at the same time as the rest of the cast to film it.

Every time I see Ben I think he's just a little more metrosexual. He and Sock are so on the same wavelength that I'm beginning to wonder if the two of them should get married.

I do wonder if Ted was faking the wedding thing to rat out Andi to corporate. It would go with the "scheming" theme of the night what with Nina's plan to trap and kill the Devil's other son. I got a slight chuckle out of Ben's casual acceptance of Nina's murder of Morgan, yet repulsion at the thought of her cheating with Morgan.

Andi's demotion was a long time coming. She obviously wasn't happy being the boss of her friends.

The show remains entertaining and would be a shame if it didn't get a renewal. Perhaps The CW could give it to whomever will broadcast on their Sunday nights just to keep it on the network.
