Being Oprah's buddy is never bad for one's career. And like former frequent guest stars Rachael Ray and Dr. Phil, now actress, author and former Playboy playmate Jenny McCarthy is poised to be the next "Big O" thing. She has inked a multiplatform deal with Harpo Productions to develop projects of all different kinds, including a talk show of her very own. While her career may have started in nudity and comedy, she's more recently become known for her books, and her activism in the fight against autism, which her son has.
I've always liked McCarthy as she's not only beautiful and funny, but very intelligent. It made it easy for her to buck the stereotype of the dumb, hot blonde. She's also incredibly charismatic, which I think will make for a great combination in a talk show host.
I can see her bringing the same sort of humorous vibe to a talk show that Ellen DeGeneres does. She's just so damned likable.

Intelligent? Her vaccine opinions alone should make her a pariah to all humanity much less preclude her from getting a show. She's an idiot who bought into a half-baked study that has since been discredited. And she's doing serious damage to the world by scaring parents away from vaccinating children.

Ya beat me to it. Damn straight. Anyone who has a child with Autism and doesn't bother to read the ACTUAL science behind it is a self indulgent idiot.

Jenny McCarthy doesnt fight against autism, she fights against children. Her actions put children at risk, its as simple as that.
Shame on Oprah for supporting her.

Was going to say something but comments 1 & 2 summed it up nicely. Agree with both of them.

What 1 and 2 said. I would add that in addition to deadly ideas about vaccines she also spreads discredited notions about how to treat autism and some rather bizarre beliefs about other things.
She is a public health danger and Oprah should be ashamed.

Ditto to commenters 1 & 2. Keep in mind that this is someone who claimed, prior to her anti vaccination crusade, that her son (and herself) were special snowflake "Indigo Children" - http://www.childrenofthenewearth.com/free.php?page=articles_free/mccarthy_jenny/article1

I agree with comment #3. Comment #s 1 & 2 said it perfectly. The show should be called Jenny McCarthy Wants To Kill Your Kids.

Wow, Dogma at it's ugliest!
How many of you have autistic children? "Modern medicine" would have us believe that autism cannot be cured, yet there are thousands of children who have been cured by "radical" alternative treatments like dietary changes. Autism is one of the fastest growing epidemics in the U.S. now at 1 in 175! Vaccines contain mercury and aluminum, both of which directly effect dna replication and nerves (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5WNLOjmAiw).
Actually, the people who are endangering their children are the one's who don't do ANY research on the matter and blindingly trust doctors or give in to pressure or fear.
Speaking of FEAR - the swine flu is gonna get us all - right! Like it did back in 1976 (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASibLqwVbsk)
Think about this one before you get your daughters vaccinated with an "anti cancer" experimental vaccine (http://www.naturalnews.com/023745.html)
If thimerasol isn't bad than why is the gov't pushing to get it out of all vaccines?

Sigh... Thimerosal isn't in vaccines anymore, and even when it was it wasn't an issue. http://www.fda.gov/cber/vaccine/Thimerosal.htm
Please do your own research before copy/pasting from the Jenny McCarthy/Jim Carrey website.

That might be the best comment in all of TV Squad history.

There was one study that was discredited, as the person doing the study was lazy, and didn't follow through. There have been other studies on vaccines, that prove that Autism can be caused by them. Quit hating. Next you will say a mother is a kid killer because she feeds her kids McDonald's or high fructose corn syrup. This is TV squad. Jeesh!!!

sigh as well - nothing was copy/pasted from Jenny's site.
Yes, Thimerosal has been removed (but not completely - from Nat'l Network for Immunization Information: "Other vaccines (for example, influenza vaccine; tetanus and diphtheria vaccine for older children and adults) continue to be manufactured with thimerosal as a preservative—although influenza vaccine without thimerosal preservative is also available.") but you forgot to comment on Aluminum!
Maybe do some reading up on this study: http://www.generationrescue.org/survey.html
Hmm, the FDA - yeah, I trust them - they've never done ANYTHING but protect us! Have you done ANY research as to who pays scientists to study drugs to get them approved - the pharmas do! None pharma subsidized labs don't exist in the U.S. - a conflict of interests - yeah, just a little!
And what, medicine is perfect??? - In the mid-1800s in Vienna, Dr. Ignaz Semmelweis, an obstetrician, proposed that obstetricians wash their hands before delivering babies to lessen the possibility of spreading disease. He even proved his point by doing a study that showed how washing hands would lessen disease in newborns. The physicians involved re- fused to believe his idea could make a difference and ran him out of Vienna. He ended up committing suicide as a result of the emotional stress he suffered.
Also, don't forget to look at the original American Swine-flu outbreak of 1976 and the ensuing vaccine debacle that followed when there was a massive push to vaccinate everyone in the US. When the dust settled, only 1 person died from the disease, yet 25 died and hundreds were paralyzed (guillen barre syndrome) as a result of the effects of the "life-saving" shot!
Lastly, please read this: http://www.newscientist.com/article/dn14458-bacteria-were-the-real-killers-in-1918-flu-pandemic.html
And that Polio problem, well let's just look at this: http://www.cnn.com/2003/HEALTH/10/31/roosevelt.polio.reut/index.html

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Kevin. People need to start remembering how to question authority. Doctors are by no means gods and we cannot continue to blindly follow their orders.
Our ability to think for ourselves seems to have gone by the wayside.
