It's an exciting time to be a B-, ,C- or D-List celebrity. NBC has just renewed the Celebrity Apprentice for another season set for next spring. Ratings have been pretty good for the current run, airing on Sundays with such A-List celebrities as Khloe Kardashian, Tom Green and the Dice Man. It's surprisingly entertaining television, and it's fun seeing Donald Trump interacting with these big names. Of course what it really is is just more of that celebreality voyeurism crap on which VH1 built an empire. The real fun will be in seeing who they get for the third installment. Considering that we're to the point where a Deal or No Deal model can be considered a celebrity it's anyone's game. I vote for Vince Shlomi ("ShamWow!"). He's a proven salesman, he knows how to treat the ladies and he wears that cool '90s headset at all times. He can be the communications liaison. I still say Gary Coleman would be a goldmine for a show like this, as would Paula Abdul (if she leaves Idol after this season). Former Idol contestant Ryan Starr is always up for a reality show. Who would you cast?

If Gordon Ramsey weren't so busy with his own reality show, I'd say bring in Gordon Ramsey. I just want to see him and the Donald battle it out once and for all.
The alternative would be to have a Celebrity Hell's Kitchen and get Trump sweating over a hot stove while Ramsey is swearing at him.
(Don't mind me. I'm in a mood today....)

Now that's a battle I'd watch. Just to see Ramsay kick the Donald's pompous ass.

Really? Season 3 of Celebrity Apprentice gets the go-ahead and Chuck might not? Don't get me wrong, Celebrity Apprentice is an entertaining show, but Chuck is leaps and bounds better. After this news, if NBC cancels Chuck...

Are they never going to bring back the reggular version of this show? Having people competeting for a job that could change their lives seems like it would provide more compelling drama than a bunch of having a bunch of celebrities who don't really care and who can win half the tasks just by getting their rich friends to donate money. Granted I only watched the first few episodes to see Tom Green, but I thought they really paled next to the British version of the Apprentice with Sir Allan Sugar

People aren't understanding the Chuck vs. Celebrity Apprentice thing. Chuck and Celebrity Apprentice can't be considered equal due to CA being on Sunday nights. The reason Chuck is in trouble is due to Jay Leno having his own prime-time show on 5 nights a week, which is effectively taking 5 prime-time spots from NBC shows for next season. Celebrity Apprentice is not in that same predicament since it airs Sundays now.
I guess if they need space they can move Chuck to Sundays, but that's usually a show killer to move from weekday prime-time to weekend prime-time.
We'll just have to wait until May 5th to see what NBC exec's do. :(

The problem I have with the Celebrity Apprentice is that it's entirely a money game. The only person who is going to win is who can squeeze the most money out of their friends and contacts. Which is going to be a problem as they run out of B-list celebrities and have to go to the C and D-list. This last week, it wasn't even a fund raising challenge, but Trump ignored the challenge completely and fired the person who had raised the least so far, and keep who he thought would bring in the more money ahead. The man is an idiot, and I don't really enjoy the show at all anymore. So glad Apprentice UK is coming to BBCA, Sir Alan Sugar makes Trump look like a wanna be hack.

Two words...Kathy Griffin.
And, it is a sad state of affairs when this foolishness is renewed while Chuck isn't (yet). Am boycotting Leno forever.
