(S02E22) "Gabriel is a good guy." - Serena
We may still not know who Gabriel really is and what his end game is, but it's clear now (as most of us thought last week), that Gabriel is no an angel. Blair and Chuck's spy work to find out what Gabriel was up to led them to Georgina Sparks (played by Michelle Trachtenberg). For those of you who were looking forward to seeing sparks fly with the return of Georgina on the show were in for quite a surprise when a new and improved version of Georgina Sparks first appeared on screen. But will her old self come back, as was the case for Serena? Next week will probably tell.
My hunch last week was that Gabriel and Poppy orchestrated the Italian wedding to help them achieve an unknown plan. From this week's episode, it's clear that my hunch was right and that getting Gabriel closer to Serena was to help him build his company. We still don't have the details from this shady operation, but it's clear things will turn sour, hurting Serena and Rufus in the process.
Speaking of Rufus, I almost screamed at my TV in the hopes that he'd hear me and back out of investing in Gabriel's company ... that is, if there is a company! Rufus will more than likely make no money from this deal, but also lose what he invested. Meaning that not only will he be unable to pay Dan's tuition, but he may even have trouble paying his current bills. This will surely make him finally accept Lily's help. I truly hope things don't turn that bad, because Rufus deserves to be happy and I want Dan to go to Yale, which would add to Blair's drama that she couldn't get into Yale but boring Dan could!
Speaking of Blair, I do think Chuck was right when he told her that she didn't agree to sleep in the limo only to help out Serena. I think she's not ready to move on to the next step with Nate, and isn't ready to admit it. Nate has been a good support in the past weeks, but this relationship seems more of convenience than true love. She may agree to stay with Nate even if he partially asked her to move in to keep her away from Chuck. But her decision will be based on keeping up appearances, and her status more on what she actually wants and needs.
We may have been Dorotea-deprived again this week, but Blair's two shout-outs to our favorite maid were fantastic. We learned that Dorotea has great spy gear and that she loves the Mets and puts on a Mets hat when there's a game. Blair doesn't say so, but it looks like Dorotea watches every Mets game. Maybe with the building's doorman? I can't wait for her to come back.
Were you surprised to see that Georgina found God? She does seem to have changed, but I'm with Chuck when he says that she may still be her old self underneath and pretends to have found God to keep her parents off her back and not go back to boot camp. Then again, maybe Georgina truly changed. We'll know next week for sure when she's tested by a trip to the city with Chuck. Vote in our poll below to let us know if you think Georgina changed or not.
I'm happy to see Georgina back. Even if I wasn't a fan of her storyline last year, her return could bring some interesting twists and turns, especially if Chuck lures her back to the dark side ...

i didnt think Poppy was in on it, so i was highly disappointed last night when it was confirmed that she way. that is so nasty, but i wonder what motivated her to target her "friend" Serena? and after things unravelled last night, i'm willing to bet Poppy is still the snake and maybe Gabriel has changed his mind. he seemed hesitant to take innocent bystander Rufus' money at every turn.
i think Blair actually loves Nate. based on her genuine reaction when he first offered the key, she didnt even flinch when she accepted. i think maybe she just wants things to go back to normal, her being with Nate and scheming with Chuck... like old times.
i also think Georgina has changed, but once she heard Blair's name, its like she still has one more demon to get rid of.

I think it is quite obvious that Rufus wont accept Lily's help, which leads Dan to go to NYU, where they offered him financial aid, and keep him in NYC. der...
the only question left is, how will they convince Serena not to go to Brown. I also hope Nelly Yuki is still on the show next year!
