The thing that gets me about the TV Land Awards is this: they're celebrating the types of TV shows that TV Land will one day not even show anymore. But before reality shows and movies take over the network, it's kinda fun to see the casts of Magnum, P.I. (too bad John Hillerman wasn't there) and Home Improvement again (but still no Jonathan Taylor Thomas ... guess that tension is still alive all these years later). Neil Patrick Harris was a good host, and the lineup of old and new stars they had is actually quite impressive.
What did you think of it?

Loretta Swit should consider undoing the plastic surgery. Her lips were cartoonish. And her face was pulled back so tight, it was not a pretty sight.

For a basic cable station that has veered from its original greatness, TVLand always puts on a heck of an awards show. NPH was terrific as a host, and it was fun to see a lot of the people I grew up with. (THEY got old, not me.) The ode to the two brothers who created all the crazy kid shows was way too long, and awful. I FF'd through Dr. Phil and the Married with Children reunion since I hate them both. Other than that, it was a lot of fun. The Emmys should hire the people who put this show together every year. They know how to have fun, entertain, and give awards at the same time.
