There is one episode left in this second season of Private Practice and we still don't know who is the father of Violet's baby is. Are you getting tired like me of this ongoing mystery? Since the reveal may happen during next week's season finale, it's time we make our predictions as to who is the father of the baby: Sheldon or Pete? Place your bets in our poll after the jump!

I'm a huge fan of Tim Daly, who plays Pete, but I hope Sheldon turns out to be the father since I've been enjoying the addition of his recurring character to the cast. If they make Pete be the father, it means there is no real use for Sheldon to stick around unless Violet accepts to marry him. Then again, we could still see Sheldon if Naomi accepts to run that other practice but that's another story.

Sheldon is a funny average Joe who adds some humor and awkwardness to the show and helps enhance Violet's job at the practice. I really enjoy the scenes both Sheldon and Violet are in, especially the ones where they work as a team to help out patients.

We know that the show will not get rid of Tim Daly so why make him the father when we know he'll stick around? Yes, Pete and Violet are cute together but I think we would get better storylines with Sheldon as a father than Pete. Plus, we still want Pete and Addison to end up together in the end right? So making him be the daddy may not help them find their way to one another by the time the series ends for good.

Could there be a third option? Is it possible that Violet hooked up with a third person around the same time and just didn't admit it? It's unlikely but should we rule out this possibility?

By the way, I'm not getting my hopes up for next week since the show needs to have a few cliffhangers as it's been renewed and the identity of the father could be one of those cliffhangers that'll have us guessing all summer long.
