ABC's new comedy Better Off Ted - which aired last night - is one of the on the bubble shows. It certainly has its fan base, but it's also one of those quirky sitcoms that just "feels" like one you can imagine ABC canceling after one short season, and then it goes away forever. And then we grumble about it for months and hope for a DVD release. What do you think? Do you think the show deserves a second season or do you think it's ... better off dead (sorry)?

Second season, please! This show is greatly amusing and how I imagine big corporations to function. I do so love a snarky show.

Absolutely! This is a hilarious show. It's unique and funny without straying too far from the sitcom world. I love it, it's one of the few shows on TV that actually makes me laugh.
PLEASE RENEW BETTER OFF TED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a smart, witty show. It just needs a better lead in to gain traction. It's just not what anyone would call must-see-tv and it never will be and that may be what cancels it.

this show is way funnier than the past couple seasons of the office. I hope they keep it, but they did get rid of carpoolers ofter one season

Is this as good as Carpoolers was?

I loved Carpoolers...but that show took about 4 or 5 episodes before it got going, and that killed it. It was too weird while trying to be semi-normal...Ted seems more like the kind of show that will get a second chance than Carpoolers.

Another vote for it. It's ridiculously over-the-top in its corporate portrayal but just right enough in what it says about bureaucratic inanity that it feels clever.
The actors are all top notch and feel like a cast that has been together a much longer time. In fact, I feel that way about the characters too. It grew on me very quickly.

Yes, more of Ted is a must. The stupid humor is the best and is a nice break from all the scripted drama that I watch.

I liked it, but once I saw the ratings I stopped watching because while it was funny, it was not appointment TV.

I admit, I watched the first episode because of Ellen pushing it. To my delight, I liked it. I like it more each week, because it is just off beat enough to make me laugh. I love the scientists. Ted, well, he is so so, but Veronica is great. And the 'commercials' for the company crack me up. I really hope this show makes it. Good comedies are really hard to find.

I think we all should send eight legged chickens, with optional jet propulsion packs to ABC if they are really serious about canceling this show.
It's great!

I am praying they renew Better Off Ted as well! The characters are amazingly entertaining, and the premise of the inner workings of a large corporation are simultaneously grossly exaggerated yet totally believable. I always get a little chuckle out of the tests that go on in the lab and the amazing Viridian "commercials"
Wednesdays are already jam-packed with some of my favorite shows yet I still go out of the way to watch Better off Ted.
I find a lot of similarities to 30 Rock. May not be as "smart" as 30 Rock, but I'll continue to make time for both.
According to Jim should not outlast this show!

Definitely... this show is hilarious... the 'motion detectors' episode sealed the deal for me. Portia de rossi degeneres, ted, phil, and lem, are all excellent

It's not as good as "Andy Richter Controls the Universe" was, but I'll take anything that Victor Fresco is doing right now. And the fact he now has two shows where he worked in a jet pack. Who else can say that?
