And yes, you'll be laughing at it, not with it. Mostly because it's awfully unoriginal, unfunny, and it revolves around two of the most useless characters in the Heroes universe -- Eric Doyle (aka "The Puppetmaster"), and that d-bag who used to be HRG's boss at Copy Kingdom (who reminds you that he used to be the boss at Copy Kingdom two seconds after he shows up).

OK, maybe someone could make a good web series about The Puppetmaster (David H. Lawrence XVII is a good actor), but this ain't it. The five-and-a half minute opener, which premiered Monday, is mostly laughably bad, forgettable and uninspired.

Nowhere Man, that's what they call it, chronicles Doyle's attempt to go straight and work an office job. Copy Kingdom guy is his sleazy jerk boss who just happens to be dating the object of his affection.

The series starts the way most uninspired web series start, with the main character filming a video journal. Seems Doyle can't hold a job because his powers take over whenever he's agitated. And he feels the need to tell Claire all of this through a video journal. Because that makes sense.

This could have been a cool, clever little series with Doyle dealing with normal everyday on-the-job stressors (like Heroes meets Office Space maybe?), but instead we get a pretty blah story about Doyle dealing with an unbelievably cartoony (and very, very unfunny) agitator while trying to keep his powers in check. Oh, and points were taken off because Doyle earnestly uses the phrase "the puppetmaster is now the puppet" in the first few seconds.

Truthfully, I haven't been digging a lot of what the Heroes camp has been offering lately. Maybe this is something only die-hard fans can love.
