Is there something odd about it, or is it just me?
Can someone explain this? Sylar turns into Micah and gets shot. Real Micah runs off. Later, Micah is in Sylar's apartment and is amazed that Sylar can morph, even though he just saw him morph moments earlier. Huh?
Some friends I was talking to think that they either left out a scene or the two scenes were flipped. Thoughts?

I don't think that was what Micah was amazed by, it was this single person having a dialog with himself. I was kind amazed myself. Watching this just made him realize what power Sylar really had, and what he could do with it.

Does this really need it's own post? Just because you can create your own post doesn't mean you should. I'm certain you could have gotten an answer to your question by commenting on the episode review post.

This is probably part of the "Let's have Bob post a bazillion mini-posts" thing Joel was talking about in the comments of one of yesterday's Lost-based mini-posts. Expect more of the same while they work the kinks out.

Someone must be behind on their post quota for the month. Now we all (and the blog as a whole) must suffer. =/

Nothing bizarre about schizophrenics working out their internal issues via shape shifting.
Nothing bizarre at all.

Just watched it back, and no, that is weird. Micah definately reacts to the shifting, not the fact that Sylar is insane, he even states; "You shape shift - how do you do that?!" As if it's something he's just found out.
I hadn't noticed, but then Sylar might not have shifted in front of Micah before, and besides the obvious, there could have been several ways Sylar could trick everyone into thinking Micah was running for the pier... maybe.

Micah reacts to Sylar's morphing. He had no idea what it was that he saw on the pier. It could have been an illusion like Matt Parkman or Shape shifting. He didn't see Sylar, but he knew that's what it was when he woke up and actually saw it.

Sylar took Candice's power, didn't he? Micah might have known that. And Micah had first-hand experience with Candice's power, so he might have just assumed that Sylar was using that power, not shapeshifting.
Also, I forget if this was mentioned on any other post, but I think the reason Sylar was not disabled by the knife to the back of the skull was because of all the shifting he's been doing. An extra tooth here, a convenient shifting of the part of his brain that makes him vulnerable, etc...

It wasn't Candice. Sylar was powerless in season 2 when he killed her. It was a new shape shifter introduced a few episodes ago that Danko let Sylar kill.

Sorry, you misunderstand me. I know that Sylar got it from that guy in the club. I was saying that Micah might have thought Sylar was using Candice's power and that's why he was surprised by Sylar's shifting power.

This show is full of plot holes, we all know it. Don't get a headache trying to reconcile the lapses in logic contained in every episode. Just accept it and move on. The show is still good even if poorly written.

I don't think the scenes were flipped, because Sylar talks about saving Micah, and he did that in the pier scene.
How about this: Micah is not surprised or frightened by the shape-shifting. He heard two voices and saw only one body long before he reacted. He's frightened by the hostile attitude of Sylar-as-Sylar. The reaction comes after Sylar snarls, "why should that matter to me?"
When he asks about the shape-shifting, he's just making conversation to deflect Sylar's hostility. Think of it this way: "uh... so you can shape-shift? That's cool. How do you do that?" Remember: Micah knows how to deal with violent crazy people. He dealt with his mother.

The scenes aren't flipped, because Sylar talks about saving Micah, and that happened at the pier.
Try this: Micah isn't surprised by Sylar's shapeshifting; he's surprised by Sylar's apparent split personality, and the increasing hostility of Sylar-as-Sylar. Note that Micah's first reaction comes after Sylar snarls, "Why should that matter to me?" Micah asks about the shapeshifting to deflect Sylar's hostility. Think of it this way: "Uh... so you can shapeshift. That's cool. How do you do that?" He's turning the conversation away from himself and Sylar's hostility to him. Remember: Micah knows how to handle violent crazy people. He handled his mother pretty well.

I think Micah was surprised to see the pier scene, and didn't think it was Sylar helping him, as "Why would Sylar help him"?He wakes up to see Sylar shifting and talking to himself, and gets his answer from the one-sided conversation, and learns it was Sylar who shifted into his form. Not that confusing.About Sylar getting stabbed in the head, I think the shifting idea someone posted is probably right. After all, "his eye stayed blue for an hour" after an earlier shapeshift. Then again, Sylar also said something about the "vulnerable spot" being so small, it's at a cellular level, or something similar. Danko could have simply missed the spot.
