I really didn't mean for that to rhyme. After what seems like years on hiatus, Law and Order: CI finally returned to USA last night. It wasn't one of the new Jeff Goldblum episodes (they start next week), but it was a new episode, as Goren and Eames investigated a murder (surprise!). What did you think? Or are you not watching it until Goldblum's character shows up? Discuss!

I was looking specifically for the aftermath of last season's finale, but there was no mention at all. I really like the new style that CI has moved towards. It would be nice if SVU and the original took some of the new elements.
And if CI is now only 13 or so episodes, why is a B-team needed? Have Goren and Eames be in all the episodes.

Love me some Bobby Goren! I had the marathon on all day and when it ended I switched over to the Sunday evening Bravo marathon. It is great to have Goren and Eames back. It looks like USA has ponied up for a makeup artist for Eames. I'm not a big fan of Jeff Goldblum but I'm going into the season with an open mind after all it is CI.

ya a shorter season should give us all episodes with Goren and Eames plus L&O : CI is the better show out of them all

While G&E are my favorite team I do like the alternating episodes. It keeps the show from getting stale.
I will miss Noth and hopefully they handle why he left better than the revolving partners he had. I liked Goldblum in Raines (sp?) so I have hopes for his role here.

Didn't like it. Hackneyed plot, lacked the old Sherlockian methods of Bobby in the old days. But then, those days are long gone. But a step-daughter abusing slimy NY politician? Really! How many times have cop shows done that!

This episode really bored me, all the characters and plot elements felt like rehashed from oewn of the three L&O franchises. I too was disappointed that there was no carry over from the last season. Hopefully this is the warm-up episode to kick off the new season.

I watched this episode just for Jeff Goldblum and was very disappointed that he wasn't on. Never liked any of the Law and Order shows but will give it a chance for Goldblum. But if this is the kind of old worn out stories they do, even Goldblum won't be able to help I'm afraid.

I watch CI for Bobby Goren (Vincent D'Onofrio). And I loved Sunday night's episode. I personally am insulted that you would even imply that people would not watch it until Goldblum comes on. Who do you think has been keeping this show running, for eight seasons now? Certainly not Goldblum! I may watch his episodes, but as far as I'm concerned, Bobby Goren IS CI. And I will always watch it for Bobby Goren.

I agree, Bobby and Eames make the show. I can't understand why it is not on a prime channel. I remember one of the last episodes, when Bobby found out his father was a serial killer. His performances have always been stella.
Let's campaign to push C.I. to A Prime Station, at Prime Time, and let Law and Order with "chip on his Shoulder," Jack McCoy takes his annoying D.A. and spend time on USA.

I can't understand how anyone could like Goren. I have never seen such a no personality and dull speaker and whoever that girl was with him was the same. Couldn't they put a little emotion in? I had to turn up the sound just to hear them.

Eames and Goren are Criminal Intent. Their acting goes well above the other spin-offs, and the actual Law and Order.
The episode where Bobby found out that his father was a serial killer was riveting. He should have won an academy award just for that episode alone.
No other two detectives, on that series have the chemistry that those two share. Their work is disciplined, consistant, and you always get the best. Let Law and Order, the whining show, trip its way down to USA, and see how their ratings do. HA!
